Just a heads up to the fine folks on TD. There's a real possibility of shortages on air conditioning equipment this summer. Pricing will definitely be spiking because of the ongoing material shortages, increase in material costs and labor shortages. The OEM's and ICM's are having real issues with labor because of the continuation of unemployment funds from the feds and states. If the money continues past the September cutoff this issue will go all the way into 2022 and possibly 2023. Know this for a fact....there will be shortages coming and equipment will be expensive.

Get it fixed or replaced now. Seriously.

I’ll wait until it breaks before I fix it.
And when it breaks, I’ll have it repaired ASAP.

Yeah we know. Everything will be in short supply.
By the way, how is the toilet paper industry doing?

This has been the case for the past year. I got mine replaced in August and the AC company said they were basically scrambling to find units from suppliers.

I wonder how many posters from various industries will be saying this same basic thing ( correctly) in the very near future.

Why are we continuing to give away unemployment when every business is looking for bodies?

We had to wait a few weeks for a replacement compressor on a 6 year old unit. Luckily the weather was amazing, we pulled out the hurricane window units but never needed them.

How about central heat? My gas furnace went out last month and I was thinking about waiting to the fall to get it worked on since I won't be needing it any time soon.
