We all loved Toys r Us but we are the reason they are closing. We shouldn’t have let our kids watch YouTube videos of other kids playing with toys and instead brought them to share a part of our childhood. And I don’t want to hear you say your kids don’t watch that. If they’ve put their little hands on a smartphone or tablet, they are watching.

It was fine for me. But the only 2 Toysrus locations I had ever been to were Metairie and Marrero, so guess I didn't know what I was missing out on
When is the last time you went?

The babies r us in metairie the last two years was an absolute shite show

The rudest workers, and clientele I could imagine

Never set foot in the Babysrus stores...but last time I went to Toysrus Marrero was during the going out of business sale and stocked up on birthday gifts for kids of friends/family while it was all 60-70% off. For Metairie, it was when I was doing Christmas shopping this past year. Both times were a shitshow, but thats to be expected during Christmas shopping season or going out of business sales.

Shouldn't have overcharged for toys while failing to update their dilapidated stores.

Amazon doesn't provide that joy.

This all day. Glad my oldest two were able to experience going into toys r us a few times. It’s like they couldn’t believe such a place existed.

On a positive note they’re trying to bring back KB toys for the holidays and later as full fledged stores.

And doing stupid shite like having 1 register open during the months of November and December. And the girl operating the register couldn't care less and was in no hurry.

There was a time I'm sure everyone thought the R Us would go on forever. It was a juggernaut and a major role in so many kids' lives.

It's amazing how poorly this company was run after the LBO.

Sears is next. I give them until mid-2021, tops.

It's been real, G.

In 50 years, there will only be two stores: WalMart and Amazon.

It was a loop that killed retail.

You'll see the same articles currently written about Toys R us being written about best buy, Dicks, Academy, etc. in 5-10 years

Can't argue with this. What really sucks is when you need something that day and go into those big box retailers and the sales people say "You could just order it online"
