You know there are gay people of all races, right?

its just call progress

"Progress" is often whitespeak for exploitation.

Notice that your example is "white neighborhoods get new things." This is not gentrification because it is improvement (a new Neiman Marcus), not displacement.

Gentrification is one group, more affluent and almost always of the dominant race, exploiting the disenfranchised and disadvantaged and gutting a long standing ethnic neighborhood.

I had already thought about posting how gay gentrification may be the exception, because gay gentrified areas are racially and economically diverse.

This is certainly the case in Dallas.

What's funny is I used to think you weren't real, but you sound exactly like a girl I know who is equally as retarded as you.

In your opinion, what gives a group of people "more of a right" to be in a neighborhood than another group outside of property ownership?

When Jackson State University, an HBCU, received MILLIONS of dollars, they sought to expand the university. In order to do so, they had to displace many black, low-income residents. What do we call that?

Hipsters don't have money, they don't shop at Goodwill just because it's hip. Their liberal arts degrees, lack of tangible skills and/or aversion to real, professional jobs don't equate to wealth.

I'm sure plenty of lower income white renters got pushed farther out into less suburbs

is that not displacement?

Gentrification has nothing to do with race.

the definition

the process of renewal and rebuilding accompanying the influx of middle-class or affluent people into deteriorating areas that often displaces poorer residents

Their parents have money and give it to them. They pretend to be poor, and that's how they do it.

They will also complain about all things expensive and establishment, and be wearing $750 worth of clothes that look like they got them from Goodwill while talking on an IPhone 6 and sleeping in a $500k house

He's right. Most of them don't have money.

They do, however, have family wealth and trust funds.

Because Detroit is a economic shithole; jobs are scarce and it's ran by buffoons. It used to be a happening place back in the early-mid 1900s...
