This is insane. All of those women look like freaks and completely unnatural. I bet they all think they look great too.
What do you call this mental illness? Some flavor of body dysmorphia, no?

I’m starting to think there’s a big conspiracy to make it to where men can never get married.
Every woman is either bogged, fat, or a single mom
I wish I could live in the 50s

Same thing is happening with an acquaintance of mine. Her mid-life crisis included weight loss surgery and then a ton of plastic surgery. She started acting like a sorority girl on spring break and hanging out with women 20 years younger than her. She cheated on her husband with his younger coworker. Now they are going through a nasty divorce after 25 years of marriage. She filters like crazy for social media, but her face is just scary in person.
The crazy thing is that her husband is a great...nice-looking, great job, and just a nice person. I just don't get what she's thinking.

I think about them, all walking around the office looking like that, fake smiling at each other, scrolling TikTok, popping pills and injecting themselves, and it’s like something out of the twilight zone.
A normal lady walks in to use the bathroom or something and is never seen again.

Social media is ruining the iPad generation. They literally can’t think critically about what they’re exposed to because their entire worldview has been warped by screens shoved in their faces as toddlers.
Get your kids off screens. Don’t give your kid an iPhone until high school, if even that. Stop buying into Big Tech’s propaganda that your kid will have a jilted social life without one.
There are girls as young as 3rd grade going to beauty stores because they believe they’re supposed to have a skincare routine, wear make up, and prepare for Botox, fillers, and lashes. It’s insanity.

All women should have to do is look at Madonna and think to themselves that she has more money than I do and that's what it bought her

To expand. See Jonathan Haidt's work on the subject.
We know that screens are poison to young minds and you need to ban your children from using them.
The craziness in this thread is downstream from social media taking over society.

In the article and in my upcoming book I argue that we need to institute 4 new norms:
• No smartphones before high school.
• No social media before 16.
• Phone-free schools.
• More independence, free play, and responsibility in the real world.

While most of the time I’d agree…. I could definitely see this happening.

I just read some thing about the youngest millennials being too young for smoking cigarettes and too old for vaping (in general) so they are aging much better than the zoomers and older millennials

Our kids have had phones starting at 13, but no social media until at least 15.
It’s going to be real rough keeping my second daughter off it because she’s so social, but I think it really does pay off.

It's impossible to keep kids off screens. My kindergartener had a Chromebook from school he got to bring home.

Oh not smoking, generally, is why people are aging so much more gracefully these days.

People smoke FAR less tobacco now, and also drink more in moderation when it comes to heavy liquor. So people look younger.
I'm interested to see if the mass increase in weed smoking among that generation has any affect when they get older

I'm not a parent but what is the rationale for giving kindergarteners a computer?

There’s a huge difference between
A. doing schoolwork on Chromebooks, watching a little tv and then going to bed
B. Being given an iPad every time you’d potentially be bored, starting at toddler age.
Biggest difference maker that I’ve seen is reading physical books in leisure time vs scrolling or staring at a screen.

I thought millennials stopped at 1996 so the youngest millennial is 28.

So glad my parents told me to go outside and play. The generation glued to a screen is not seeing the rewards of being glued to a screen.

Wouldn't shock me, especially if they smoke inside
That's the REAL issue.
For smell, too.

Our school system did this as well. Thankfully when we moved to another elementary in district, the principal banned all kids (K-5) from bringing them home.
The rationale is that they will get extra practice with computer programs like iReady or IXL, which should boost standardized test scores. It also was rationalized that if the kids have to go virtual or need an e-learning day, they’ll have a device at home. It’s an “equity” issue.
As a public school teacher working on his PhD in education and a typical defender of public schools, I really wish I had the means to put my kids somewhere else.
