You aren't saving much money when gas prices are low 2s and supercharging rates are $0.35/kwh. They are excellent money savers for <200 mile round trips when I can charge at home which is 99.9% of my use.
Neither of us have long commutes or drive high mileage. Honestly, gas is a pimple on the arse of our monthly budget. EVs are sort of trying to fix a problem that I don't have.

Yeah but you ain’t picking up that fine liberal pussy in a Tundra. Got to get a Cybertruck for that. Actually nevermind, they hate Elon now.

This seems like click bait from a guy who literally runs a Cybertruck content farm account on X for profit.
Retards like OP just paid for homey's "super charger" bill by sharing this rage bait.

I would 100% buy another diesel truck before I ever think about getting a CyberTruck. That being said, I’ve had a Tesla Model 3 the past 6 months and use it to get around town and have saved quite a bit by charging at home.
Charging at home is where it is at.
Especially at Entergy’s dirt cheap rates compared to other places.
But that is where the rub is for me how are you paying road taxes that we pay attached to gasoline.
EV owners should pay either higher registration fees based on yearly mileage or a tax on out of home charging. But if you think about it not taxing at home charging would be the same thing as a farmer using red diesel in a non farm vehicle.
Just my 2 cents.

We’re just at the beginning of this, and on the verge of solid state, 600 mile range cars, hundreds of thousands of supercharger stations driving down rates. Wireless charging at red lights, and battery swaps stations, like a cordless drill.

Some of you dolts believe in solar fricking roadways too...

Electric vehicles are useless unless for any type of travel over 100 miles or so. What a joke
I have nothing against EVs and hope to see the technology improve. But until they produce a full sized truck that can go 450+ miles, stop for five minutes, and then be ready to go another 450, I’m not interested in

Pretty sure people aren’t buying Cybertrucks because they want the cheapest option
And people aren’t buying them because they want the capabilities of a truck. It’s pretty terrible at being anything other than a status symbol

Took some nuts to say that on here
Yep, when I got my Prius V, I began thinking I was becoming a liberal Democrat transgender homosexual with a strong desire to live in California.

Need to build more nuclear plants asap

EVs are not the best choice for long trips.

I would want to know more. He is specifically saying superchargers and not other options. I've traveled long distance with EV and it was much cheaper and it was under $3 a gallon gas at the time
It cost me approximately $30 to drive from Prairieville to Dallas using super chargers when leaving house with a full charge. Same trip using my wife’s vehicle is about $125.

In Texas EVs pay a much higher registration fee that more than covers it. I imagine other states are going to move in the same direction but maybe less punitive.

Exactly my thought. If your user name is redmanchew and you admittedly drive a Prius, you should ask for a screen name change immediately.

Me and my buddy with a Tesla have taken it out to Houston from Arkansas a coupe of times to visit a friend at MD Anderson. It was a great experience to me. The two charging stops we made were far shorter than I thought they would be. It Seemed pretty economical as well. Not to mention the self driving benefit to my friend. I’m far from being sold on them but to act like long road trips in a Tesla are a nightmare is not the case at all. It’s a perfectly fine way to travel.

In most states you have to pay an extra fee when you renew your registration. In GA it’s $200ish, which is way more than I’d pay in gasoline taxes since I don’t drive much (6-7k miles per year).
