Looking for 4 tickets for Arkansas

Posted by jwal39232 on 10/26/25 at 8:12 am
I’m sure I can find 4 good very cheap tickets for the Arky game here? Hell I’m sure someone will give them away. Seriously looking for 4 together in lower bowl. Stadium will probably be empty but committed to the game before season started and have to go.

Been in construction for the past 13 years and before that was in operations and leadership of a non-profit. So not necessarily oil and gas and of course I know that background would have been beneficial. My wife will be working at Our Lady of the Lourdes Children’s hospital, if we make the move. I’ve applied for some outside sales jobs in construction as that is what I do now. As an LSU grad, I’m just ready to get back South.

I agree that the area is growing and jobs should be easy to come by. Just have to find one that fits.

I reached out to them today and received the membership info and application. Just waiting on my wife’s job offer and we should be headed out. Now I have to find a job. Haha. Don’t think “golf” qualifies in her eyes.

I can tell.

Do any of the private clubs ever wave initiation or let it roll on the monthly. Our club always did a waived initiation once a year or every two years when membership needed growth. And our dues are a little over $400 per month and that is with a cart and we don’t have minimum in food/bev/golf shop but we always spend at least $250-$600 a month in club because I’m an idiot and charge it all.

I find it crazy that Jackson, MS has better options and rates than a town the size of Lafayette. And I say that for the Jackson area (Madison, Brandon, Pearl, Flowood)

Lafayette/Youngsville golf

Can someone give me some recommendations for courses public/semi-private/private in the Lafayette/Youngsville area? My family may be relocating there. I am a member of a semi-private club in MS. I play in two weekend groups of around 15-20 guys each depending on tee times and other. Play some during the week when possible. My home course now is very accessible, even on the weekends. Membership base is probably 425 individual/family. We have a men’s group with 1 tournament per month and an end of the season event (separate from the club championship) that runs 9 months out of the year. I am very active with my membership base and have made long lasting friendships with so many of the guys from the club. I hope to continue something like this if we move. Any information on membership fees/crowded courses to avoid/etc?

Thanks in advance.
I preferred the old layout. Still a nice course. But the old design with tree lined fairways and having to shape shots, etc. made it better to me. I don’t play there much being a member at Castlewoods, but do prefer the old design.
I remember when people on this board begged for this guy to come coach at LSU due to recruiting.
Depends on where you’re staying……

Close to Madison area - Lake Caroline, Whisper Lake (mostly a par 3 course with a few short 4s and I think two 5s), Annandale & Reunion top in the area but private and typically have to be with member.

Close to Brandon - Castlewoods, Refuge, Baypointe. I’m a member at Castlewoods. It is semi-private. If playing during the week, it’s pretty wide open sans the men’s noon group that normally has 3 groups. Greens replaced two years ago, took some time to come back, but starting to get really good and they have a new superintendent and he’s doing a great job of getting it in great shape. Greens fees are pricey as they want to try and make it a “members only” course. Refuge - great course and pretty well maintained. Greens are nice. Was completely redone (design and greens) a few years back, hotel on site as well, so you could stay there and walk to the clubhouse. Greens fees aren’t as bad as Castlewoods during the week. If I didn’t live 4 miles from Castlewoods, I would join here and play more. Baypointe - I wouldn’t play it if they offered me a free greens fee and a box of Pro V1s.

Other options - Patrick Farms (Pearl, MS) - not a bad place but one of the busiest weekday courses in the area.

Deerfield (Canton, MS) - nice course, nice greens. Semi private. Not too busy during the week.

Canton Country Club (Canton, MS) - think it’s semi-private. Old school course. Small,Turtleback greens. It’s decent.

Dancing Rabbit (Philadelphia, MS) - 45-60 min drive from Jackson. 36 hole course. Used to the the diamond of golf courses in our area, funding lacks for real on course maintenance but still always in really good shape, it just used to be in GREAT shape.
Thanks! We have a buddy that works at Innisbrook. We have a reservation at the steakhouse Saturday night. We got an amazing deal with his connections, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go.
Any certain tee recommendations? We were planning on playing the white tees.
That sounds flat out horrible for the guys that are in the double digits. I’m one of the lower ones, and it sounds horrible to me.

Figured it would be a fun course and a challenge given it hosts the Valspar. One of the courses is punched or the greens are being renovated, so we could only play two of the three.

We are staying on property as well. A friend works at Innisbrook and we got a great deal for the weekend.

Innisbrook recommendations and tips

Guys trip headed out Thursday for three rounds. Two at Copperhead and the other on the Island course. Anyone played recently/ever with any tips for us? 10 guys going. Handicaps range from 2-20. Thanks for any input.
Thanks. Just sucks they don’t have a place like RTJ around MS coast for stay and play. We have an in at the Beau to be able to play Fallen without full reservations. But really just liked a place where everyone could stay and hang. The best part of the trip was after the round cooking and drinking and hanging out.

Any other suggestions would work. From the Jackson, MS area. So 4-5 hour driving distance max.
Is anyone familiar with any golf trip/stay and play packages for large groups (16) on the MS Gulf Coast? We just did Capitol Hill this past weekend and stayed on site at the Oster houses. Looking for something similar on the MS Gulf Coast. I’ve looked online but couldn’t find much and would really want it similar to staying on site and everyone in the same place. Staying in the same place and being able to all hang out every night was just as much fun as the golf.
