How do you have less than 8,000 posts? Every time I turn around, you're talking shite about something

What am I talking shite about?

To answer your question. I was banned for 2 years and I also have a job. If its busy I may go a day or two without posting. If its slow, I may make 10 posts in a day

Best part about Galveston is the free hypodermic needles buried in the sand!

A lot of people are confusing sand quality (OP's statement) with water quality here. Most cities along the MS coast keep up the beaches very well and have large crews to do just that. The water quality varies hugely with rainfall. It also varies a lot based on proximity to the bays (BSL & Bioxi). If the spillways get opened in LA, then it's totally screwed, especially on the west end. With the drought last year, the MS sound was as clean and beautiful as I've seen it all spring/summer. North side of Ship Island looked like this or better the entire summer.

I dont think Biloxi beaches are at all better than Galveston. They are both pretty much not good

We’re talking beaches here. Not water color. If you think biloxi isn’t much better than Galveston you probably haven’t been to either in the past 10-15 years

All of the beaches from Galveston to Biloxi are absolute shite. They only start to look nicer the further away you go from the path of the Mississippi river

I grew up on both beaches. From MS but had family in Galveston & would visit for a couple weeks every year.

I stayed in the Biloxi water, but would never get into that shite in Galveston, even as a kid.

Has it changed? Been a while since I've been to Galveston. Biloxi beaches are much improved.

Florida is nice for a visit and all but man there’s just so many things working against it. The prices are jacked up, it’s crowded and weirdos are attracted. Some of the weirdest people on earth reside in FL

The beaches in Mississippi might be an upgrade from LA and TX beaches, but they aren’t anywhere near Destin-30A in terms of aesthetics. It’s not even close. I’ve been to Biloxi and it felt more like a huge lake than a beach.

These are also Mississippi beaches and they're real.

They are man made and for years looked like beaches in Florida. But sand doesn't like to stay in place. My uncle was an engineer for the Corp of Engineers on that project in the 60's/70's They pumped sand from off shore. a mile or more.

conversely, moving west, you are at clean, near white beaches almost immediately west of the mouth of the river.

That's not true at all. Barrier islands off the MS Coast keep fresh river water close to shore. It's why there are so many water advisories on the MS gulf coast.

Is silt from the Mississippi River really the issue? They pumped in sands at holly beach several years back, and they were nice and white,

The last time I was at Holly Beach the beach looked like the town dump. That was in the early 2000's, so what has changed? More money after Rita?

If you have 10 and under kids that want to play in the water then MS beach > Fl beaches. Yeah I said it.

Ms beaches are knee deep for at least 25yds out and probably waist deep for 50yd for young kids with NO rip tides or strong waves to worry about. You can literally sit on the beach and watch your 3 yr old who can’t swim w/o the need to constantly hover over them out of fear of drowning. Ms has pumped in a ton of nice sand on a semi regular basis and routinely sweep them to keep the beaches nice.
