People don't move because they have jobs , homes, businesses, family, etc. Pretty simple to understand that. Just like Nola, they have carved out a nice little life for themselves in a nice neighborhood and they are able to compartmentalize that on the one hand, and ghetto violence on the other.

Exactly. But what the politicians in Baton Rouge need to realize is that if the crime doesn't remain contained in the ghetto like it currently is and it drifts into non-crime-ridden parts of the town, they'll lose even more tax base quickly.

I think the anger is, officers never get charged. The Freddie Grey thing is horrible. They broke his neck while detained and no chargers filed?

They DGAF. They aren't that smart and even if they were, the thought of black crime spreading to majority- white neighborhoods delights them . Spreading the misery is a win for them.

I would say the meth problem in South La is almost exclusively white people. Does that mean white people need to change? No. It isn't all white people.

But the majority of white people will turn them in and want them to go to prison for being shitheads

If that's the opinion you hold then I see why you have given up.

Personally, I live in a city with a white mayor, a state with a white governor and a country with a white President. The latter of those espousing ideals that are anything but victimhood.

The gap between me (top 5% earner) and the average and bottom wage earners is growing at a massive pace and only looks to get larger as my tax burden looks to fall even more than it has in the past decade+.

I see it different, but I do agree more can be done to eliminate problems that do not plague me.

Must be great to be you. It will stay fine and dandy until you pull up for gas, at your local neighborhood store where you know thd clerk as Bob, and some misguided urban "youth" puts a gun to your head and tells you to give it up. It might plague you then. If anyone reading this thinks the uptick in violence is centralized in Baton Rouge, please open your eyes to what the rest of the country is seeing as well. As far as solutions, I wish prayer would do it alone. It's going to take aggressive enforcement to make things uncomfortable enough for some of the players to move.. because they won't stop.

As far as a 20 year period, yes. But there has been an increase over the last couple years. I think the Ferguson Effect is real.

These people push the idea that black people fear police. Based on the sheer numbers, black people should fear black people.
