Been lucky and haven't needed to attend any funerals in a few years, but someone from work passed Sunday.

What's the safe dress these day?

You can still wear a sundress. Not too cold yet.

A dark suit. Not many people wear black anymore.

At least business casual, imo.

I have had the same dark grey suit for 20 years (college interviews) that I only keep around for funerals.

I say rock your dress after your favorite princess. Or Meghan.

I wore a pair of slacks and a short sleeve Golf Polo to a wake last week. I didn’t stay for the funeral mass.

Men, coat tie. Women, dress. Preferably muted colors.

My uncle passed and his daughter told us the funeral would be casual. I wore a dark suit, white dress shirt with cufflinks, silver tie and black dress shoes. That is as casual as I get at a funeral. I did wear some football themed socks though, not to be casual but just bc he liked football.

I bet the family was touched that you made the effort to stop at a funeral visitation on the way to playing a round of golf.

Most likely, the family is appreciative of anyone who made the effort to come honor their loved one. They are not likely to care how those people are dressed. I know I didn't.
