Been living and driving in Texas since 1999, all my cars did not have front plates. Pulled over twice and never got a warning or ticket for it.

Probably jinxed myself now

Yes and had to add a bracket on both cars to be lawful

Or you could just do the universal sign of laziness and just stick the front plate on the dash like it’s a damn parking receipt.

There is literally no place on that car for a front plate

If you are buying in a state that doesn't require it, or moving from a state that doesn't require it, you may not have a front plate holder installed on your vehicle. However, that doesn't mean there is no place for one. The car manufacturer makes one, or you can get aftermarket ones. Had to get them when I moved to Texas for the vehicles we had.

Many folks put the plate on their dash (trashy), but you can still get pulled over for that. Really just depends on whim of cop. If you don't want to mess up your frontend, their are plate holders that go into the tow slot if your car has one. That's what I use.

The dealer when I bought my car would not do it. Bumper too expensive and it has all those driving sensors and cameras near where the front plate would go. Not only did they not do it, but they said it would be a shame to mess up the front of the car by drilling into and suggested I just leave it off. I’m mostly in LA but the car is titled in TX. So far I haven’t had a problem. I was told by the dealer that the ticket in Texas was minimal. Not sure if true.

My wife had a Honda S2000 convertible with no plate on the front bumper here in Houston. She drove around like that for a couple of years before being pulled over and given a ticket. I hated doing it but I put the plate on the front and went to court and showed proof that I'd done so. The judge dropped the charges.

Since then I just put plates on the front no matter how shitty it looks. I don't want to give the cope any added reasons to pull me over.

That law is generally only used as PC for a stop on shitbox cars with scrote-bag drivers.

WTF you talking about? Was your 911 a toy model maybe?

He is right, from the factory US spec 911s do not come ready for front tags. You have to drill the bumper (or get the stealership to do it) or use one of the non-destructive mounts like the Carbonio.

So you got away with breaking the law for years, and you're here wondering if anyone else got caught because you got caught?

Also the fine is minimal. I think you need to catch a cop on a bad day to get this ticket.

There wasn't even a fine on the books for it up until 6-7 years ago or so. Literally could get a ticket with no punishment.

Law requires a front plate to be visibly displayed. It does not specifically have to be on the bumper, as far as I know.

Which is a surprise. Seems like just another reason for our politicians to fleece us with taxes and fees. Very surprising Louisiana doesn't require it

I was asked once if I had it, and yes I did. Under the driver's seat. Cop didn't say anything else about it.

I got pulled over (texas) for not having a front license plate. I told the cop I had COVID (this was early 2020) and he let me go with a warning

I was at a car show this past weekend in TX and I was surprised at the number of TX registered cars that did not have a front plate installed.
Ordinary I wouldn’t have noticed until someone remarked how much they take away from the styling on the front.
