Just tell her to #metoo her boss and sue the company and retire.

Honestly, get them drunk on your dime. Stand by them and discuss where they want to be now that they have nothing to lose. It varies from person to person, but just be there for them.

No one's advice worked. I just worked every day at getting a new job as if it was my job.

Also tell her to apply for Uber or Lyft to get an additional income stream. With bonuses, you can make $1200 a week in the meantime.

Every time it happened to me, was the best thing for my career.

You stupid frick.

1. offer condolences
2. offer to help look for new jobs and tell her send a resume to you.
3. take her for drinks after work today
4. frick her right in the pussy.

eta: Ah frick. Seriously. Get her to start the unemployment benefit ASAP. it's a pain in the arse(Louisiana makes you apply for jobs weekly and submit that shite for a direct deposit) and most people wait weeks before realizing they actually DESERVE that small bit of $$ to help.

Your friend is lucky that the economy is pretty strong now and they could probably get re-hired pretty easily.

I was laid off in Q2 2009. That fricking sucked.

It took me a while to reinvent myself when it happened to me, but I'm doing so much better today because of it.

It also made me cynical as frick about employers. I keep my resume up to date just in case.

Was she looking for advice or just venting? If the latter, just nod, say "Sorry that happened"
QFT

Guys, including myself, frick things up a lot by thinking women want advice about their problems when what they want is someone to listen to them while they figure out the answer themselves. It's sometimes pretty hard, but unless you know she wants more from you just shut up and listen.

Best thing that ever happened to them. Now they can go work for a company that is not failing and has a future for more money.
