I'm numb.

I used to always dismiss this as simply a selfish decision.... but I know my friend didn't have a selfish bone in his body.

I can only ask my mind to accept that mental health issues and depression are too often masked and hidden. Or maybe some see it and others do not. I only wish I would have had any small indication.....I would have reached out.

Sorry to bum y'all out. Guess I just needed some forum to vent

sorry man. sending positive energy to you and his family. couldn't imagine my bff doing that.

we really do need better and cheaper mental health options. would make for a more productive and peaceful country with fewer homeless people.

Don't be too ashamed to go to therapy. It works if you find the right one.

Sorry for your loss Brah.

Some people have demons they don't talk about.

Sucks.

Horrible to hear. Sad that someone could feel so hopeless. And it's not selfish. It's simply a means to stop the suffering and hell they feel.

Very sorry to hear that. It has to be devastating. You should definitely seek counseling.

I am sorry for your loss and the loss that his family and other friends will feel. No one can understand the depths of his hopelessness. I hope you all can find some comfort in the fact that he is at peace. God Bless.

Mental health is a growing problem.

I was a few blocks away and responded to a call at the Ace Hotel yesterday morning and there was a young guy who had jumped from the rooftop bar. Very sad.

I can say from personal experience it's not an easy situation to understand. I used to think the same way as you did, that suicide was a selfish act. But you live and learn. I'm not big on prayer, but I hope you get through it.

Sorry man. All too familiar feeling for me. The guy that was supposed to be the best man in my wedding killed himself a few months prior. I had a very hard time with it and still do at times.
I can't say anything that will make you feel better as I know exactly how you feel. Sorry bud, it's not easy.

Bad news travels fast. I bet we know the same guy. Just heard about it tonight. Happened this afternoon. So sorry for his children.

A big time Miami attorney in his late 50s just committed suicide.

Sending positive thoughts your way. Depression doesn't discriminate against any races or economic status. Terrible to hear

It sucks. Had a friend leave my house after a weekend of partying. Had a great time. Went home and put a shotgun to his head. We were only 19. Very smart guy, great personality, from the outside nothing was wrong. That was 20 years ago. I think about him all the time. There were no signs, signals or anything. Everyone was in shock. All you can do is remember and appreciate the time you had. Live life as best you can to honor him.
