frick, I done did it (I hate Christmas)

So the plan has been to have a get together at my dad’s house the day after Christmas. I’ll be cooking fish there. Then Sunday, we’re having my wife’s family over and I’ll be cooking for all that. The plan for Christmas Day was to be relatively low key. My wife’s mom and dad might come over in the morning and I might cook breakfast but not much after that. I might go hunting in the afternoon or I might not.
Well, my wife’s dad just called and volunteered my house for another get together for that side of the family on Christmas Day. My wife volunteered me to cook for that too. After the call, I rather innocently mentioned that I didn’t want to cook three days in a row and had sort of planned on doing something else that day. Well, she flew off on me. Then she thought about it and called her brother who didn’t really know anything about the Friday plans. Then she called her dad to suggest that we just do breakfast as originally planned on Friday and he got pissed and hung up on her. So, ow everyone is pissed at everyone and I the tricking bad guy because I didn’t want to cook big meals three days in a row. Lol

Stop bring a vag. It sounds like a communication problem. Call her dad up and explain to him. Your wife is probably all emotional about it and gets her dad worked up.
Or just say "This is what I am doing, anything beyond that yall are on your on".

I just had one of those moments too. My mom has planned 3 events this week for the family because only one person won’t be present at each. This allows her to have that missing person at at least one get together. Wife plans ONE event with her family that slightly coincides with the ending of one of my mom’s events and now I’m the villain and selfish. You can’t win. About to spend the holidays at home with liquor and just my wife, kid, and whoever wants to swing by and hang out.

You're not the bad guy. OT frickery aside, They should have offered to handle/help with the cooking or make it catered or potluck.
If they think you're an a-hole for not wanting to cook three days in a row, that's on them.
