So you went to one airport toilet one time on the way to another continent? Dude, I am in Europe every year and currently here for 4 months and in no way shape or form are Euro bathrooms that great for the most part. Sure, there are absolute exceptions, but the majority of them remind me of the movie Hostel.

True, but the cause would have been high and dry without French support.

Championing bathrooms in Europe is a strange position to me.

Why do people glorify going to a gas station so much?

Because everyone in the world has been to a shitty toilet at a gas station. Or petrol station for the non Americans.

I’ve been watching these euro vids every day. The World Cup does bring people together-and it’s like a weeks long promotion for American culture.

Patently false. Maybe in a select few cities if you’re very picky on which restrooms to pay for. Most are disgusting. I paid for restrooms worse than most normal non-Bucees gas station restrooms. And the couple truly free public toilets that I saw were so gross on the outside that I dared not enter

Edit to admit...it costs 1 euro to use the bathroom there. This pays the guy who keeps them clean.

I just returned from 17 days in Europe (Germany, Austria, England) and my biggest gripe is paying to use nasty rest area level bathrooms. Surely your post isn't serious.

There are many great things about Europe, the bathroom situation is among the worst.

This. I've resorted to just finding a corner alley and whipping it out when I've been over in France and the Netherlands.

The loans the French King took out to help with our war was a factor that lead to their revolution..

Imagine telling someone in the 1970s that we’d be “proud” because some Europeans made us feel good about giant gas stations, big portions of food, and stadiums.
