Reminds me of my favorite Greedy Williams tweet:
Nov. 13, 2017 "Who know a french bulldog breeder???"
Later, he posted a pic of a puppy named Fat Boi. I can't get the twitter pic to post.

We currently have a 2+ year old french bulldog and he is the most loyal pet I have ever owned. He plays great with other dogs and has loved every human he has interacted with, young and old. He isnt the smartest and they are stubborn but he doesnt piss or shite in the house, he rarely barks (unless when playing), he doesn't smell and his vet bills have been the same as every other dog I have owned. Dont let some peoples experiences talk you out of it. French Bulldogs are a great breed.

Friend of mine had one. A very disgusting breed of dog. I called him Butt Face and he seemed to respond to that name. He was a stinker too. The French seem to like butt faced stinking dogs is all I can figure.

All of these people are nuts. I have two and one is hands down the best dog I have ever owned . Both were easy to train and funny, loyal dogs

I watched a Frenchie over the weekend and she snorted constantly, which can be annoying. I imagine you’d get used to it if it were your dog permanently, but it got old.
She also had excessive gas and didn’t get along with my extremely passive lab at all. But that can probably be chalked up to being in a new place with a dog she didn’t know.
Those things aside, she was endearing as hell. She’s a bit of a moron in a cute way, and she was fun to have around.

A small dog for kids?? Easy answer is a Shih tzu.
My stepmom has had them forever. Without my consent, she gave my daughters one 5 years ago. I was stuck with it. What kind of a-hole says give the cute little puppy back. Initially, I was pissed, but dang, I love that little dog. They don't yap, in fact, barely bark. They play with the kids until they fall out. They don't get stressed out about anything. They are tough and sturdy little pups. The only negative is the grooming every 4 to six weeks at $40 - a pop. I keep ours in a puppy cut.
Never thought I'd recommend anyone get a Shih tzu; but they are good little dogs.

I knew someone who had one and it had SERIOUS breathing issues. Like sleep apnea for dogs or something. They have those weird faces, can't get any air in.

quote:Nuts or retarded. Research the breeder. Simple. We have one and he is awesome. Picked him up at 8 weeks old. He was house broke by 11 weeks old. Smart as a whip, very playful, great around other dogs and people. Only issue I have with mine is the heat. They can’t handle heat very well.

Yeah but I adopted a chocolate lab from the pound. I admit that that was lucky though. Best of both worlds

As others have said, they aren’t all that smart, and don’t have that much personality.
French bulldogs are known for their personalities. Have you had one?

I’m not sure what sort of function they serve.
Not sure what function your post serves tbh

Consider a pug. Great with kids...can be lazy or active depending on you. Probably cheaper than a frenchy.

Considering purchasing a French Bull Dog. Somewhat pricey. Does anyone have any experience with this breed? Shedding, health, temperament with kids, etc. Any information would help. Thanks in advance.
One of our homeowners had an English Bulldog
great dog...they can't swim
and they have many health issues
Most people who own a bulldog need to have some extra cash laying around...
not sure a French Bulldog is much different on health issues...

Article on common health issues
Just spend some time researching this breed...
In spite of all 17 health conditions, French Bulldogs are still considered to be the healthiest of the Bull Breeds. When selecting a French bulldog for the first time, always ask the breeder to produce certification that the pup’s parents have been screened for these common hereditary health problems. Anyone can check the health of their French bulldog’s parents on the CHIC or Canine Health Information Center health registry.
Everyone says adopt ...well, think long and hard about the potential problems you maybe inviting into your daily life...

they have a lot of health problems. I would avoid getting a dog from a breeder, just simply due to health problems.
This means you will end up with a mutt, but a mutt is a better dog anyway.

Daughter has a 6 month pup. Dam thing is so Fugly, it is unreal. Told her it is something from Star Wars.
Yes, a very high dollar pup that she drove all the way to Fla to get it. This is show dog stock, not a puppy mill dog. She is a Vet and knows what to look for in a breed. So far, no problems like a America Bull Dog.
There is a big dog show in New Orleans starting Thursday. There are 31-33 French Bull dogs that are suppose to show. My daughter will be one of them. She used to show Great Danes. Crazy going to a small dog.
