Considering purchasing a French Bull Dog. Somewhat pricey. Does anyone have any experience with this breed? Shedding, health, temperament with kids, etc. Any information would help. Thanks in advance.

Get a mutt. Spend the money you'd have otherwise spent on the dog to see actual France.

Go to the pound. Get a mut for $50 after shots.

Lifetime friend.

They arent the healthiest breed, they stink, and they arent the smartest either. If you are going to spend good money on a dog get a better breed.

Thats an active dog. If he was looking for a French bulldog, maybe he doesnt want that. Those are awesome dogs though. I owned a few. Very smart =easy to train if you have the time.

Indeed. I have 2 young kids and relatively small yard so need something with minimal exercise needs.

I have one. Love her to death. She’ll be 7 in October and is the snortiest, most clownish dog I know. They’re amazing with kids and are worth the $ in my experience

Been there. Expensive purchase, more expensive vet bills, expensive food requirements, allergic to basically everything, maybe not quite as dumb as people claim they are, but she did seem to piss/shite inside on purpose at times if that makes sense. Chewed everything, but preferred expensive furniture legs.

At about 2.5 years old she tried to bite my son. Not just a snap, but chased him through the house so shes no longer anybody's problem.

This isn’t an aggressive post to tell you to go to the pound. Get what you want as you’ll likely have it for a decade give or take.

I’ve had labs, ridgebacks and a couple of other purebred dogs throughout my life that were adopted/purchased. My current St. Bernard/Shepherd mix I got from a vet’s office is unquestionably the greatest dog I’ve ever owned. She was the runt of the litter and cost a hundred bucks with everything.

Before you pay a huge fee for a dog that will probably have some medical issues, I’d just browse what kind of pups they have locally and see if one catches your eye. You may find an incredible dog at a fraction of the cost.

No. Heck no.
Dogs from the pound are much better.
They have all kinds, ages
Cheap
They really know you saved them

I don’t get why people spend tons of money on a dog. Get a pound puppy and go on a vacation or help the homeless

We keep one in the neighborhood when the family travels. It is kind of dumb. And chews everything.
