He better hope that they keep him in solitary confinement. I would be scared to death to be in general population with a charge like that. He'll get his arse kicked daily.

So if you spray paint a white guy its ok. right.
Posted on 9/17/15 at 6:30 pm to TheAlmightySmash
Well i don't seem to remember our race being oppressed and many of us hung by our necks in trees so birds could pick at our corpses. So yeah, there's a little sensitivity there. But we should act like putting nooses on black historical figures statues is fine and America needs to stop being pussies and just "get over it", right?

Did anyone else think he was going to put on a pointy white hat when he was pulling the bee keeper suit on?

Basically he's being put in prison for what they "think" he was trying to express symbolically. Thought crime.

Good to see the courts Crack down on these thugs

Yeah, great use of the taxpayers' dollar here. Imprisoning a kid for 6 months for garbing a statue. It's not like they spray painted or took a hammer to it. This person is a disgrace to my university, but he doesn't deserve to go to jail over it. I think the immediate aftermath of what he did was enough, maybe community service tops. 6 months is just a sickenly horrible way to punish someone for something as menial and embarrassing as this.

And yeah, what's going to happen if this guy is brutally beaten, raped, or even killed in jail for what he's done? This is just piss poor thinking that could bite my university in the arse. Just make him do community service that has to do with helping minority communities, and that should be the extent of his punishment. Unless much bigger racists protect him as part of the Aryan Brotherhood, he may be brutally trampled in prison. Just stupid on all sides.

They should also throw the lawyer in prison for doing a horrible job
Yeah, I really think this should be on this lawyer's business card if he got his client this rough of a deal for putting a flag on a statue. Who would hire this man after this? He couldn't have faired any worse by representing himself, and anyone with sense would rather do so than have this clown representing them.

The judge likely gave him the death penalty for hanging a rope on a statue.
He will get murdered in prison if special precautions are not taken.
Community service would have been appropriate.

I honestly don't think he'll get killed (thinking he'll only get minimum to mid level security), but he will for sure get the dog shite kicked out of him. Whether it will be constantly or not depends if he joins the Aryan Nation group in prison, if he has that option. So great job judge; you've turned an drunken idiot kid into someone who is either going to get his teeth kicked in by the people he was bigoted against constantly, or join a group that will turn him into an even bigger racist bigot. Either way, you're not improving race relations and completely ruining this guy's life simply for one night's worth of drunken shenanigans where no one was remotely harmed.
Maybe you could have given him community service to sympathize with the community he previously despised, and then he'd see the errors of his ways when he bonds with them. Instead, you're going to allow him to be brutally assaulted by people he hates. Great job, judge, great job.

I just want to say RogerTheWhiteManNutHugger is completely tone deaf. I'm glad your old arse lives in alaska. Stay there in perpetual irrelevance, my homie.

The lawyer deserves 3 months for wearing a baseball hat with a suit.
The judge sounds like mountain man from Duck Dynasty.

If roles were reversed and a black tore down a statue of a confederate leader..
Theyd probably be on the cover of time.
It's sad that judges are becoming afraid of African Amica media backlash.
