How much jail time do the people who hang coaches and presidents in effigy get?

Appears to be a social war against white males going on.

What if this was a black kid who put a noose around a Jefferson Davis or General Lee statue? What should be his punishment?

Pleats. I've been telling y'all I'm not the only one. That shite is tight.
Otherwise I disapprove of his behavior. frick his prison time in Mississippi.

They should also throw the lawyer in prison for doing a horrible job
His Georgia lawyers defense was to blame Ole Miss culture, the frat, and the fratstar's black high school football coach. Fratstar should have hired an Ole Miss fratstar lawyer.
Hill wrote that the seeds of racial bias were planted when Harris transferred to a Georgia high school seeking to play quarterback, only to have a black head coach pass over him for a black quarterback. He wrote those seeds bloomed at Sigma Phi Epsilon, where he said incoming pledges were taught to keep alive grudges over Ole Miss’ purge of Confederate symbolism such as the Colonel Reb mascot and the display of Confederate battle flags at sporting events.
“Blatant racism was not only OK, it was expected,” Hill wrote of the fraternity.

Prison??! Maybe there is some law about prison time when you vandalize government property that I don't know about?
As someone who leans left (not that it matters), it's insane he's getting 6 months PRISON for this. Jesus. Maybe 3 months of community service and put him through multicultural classes until he begs for mercy. No doubt he's a dumbass racist frat douche, but on the outside without knowing the law on this, it seems crazy.

Harris pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of using a threat of force to intimidate African-American students and employees, and prosecutors agreed to drop a felony charge.
The sentence could have been significantly worse. A felony hate crime charge was dropped. That could have resulted in ten years behind bars.
