Maybe some community service in Jackson working with little black kids would have been more appropriate.

I'm not a black parent, but if I was, I don't think I'd want my kids being around a dude who symbolically hung a black civil rights leader.

But yea, that sentence is absurd.

Another example of why the USA is the worlds leader in locking people up.

We love to take away a man's freedom for really stupid shite.

I think even that would be a bit much. A small fine probably would have been just fine. Why waste time in the legal system of a really stupid prank

The kid looks like piece of garbage for smiling, but there's no way that kid deserved any jail time. That's fricking ridiculous.

You'd have to leave the trailer park first.

Surprised he was offered a bid since he doesn't wear Costas or Raybans.

I think the punishment is excessive. Expulsion from school, 1-2 years probation, and community service is more fitting for the crime.

Local news said he had several priors alcohol related and a disorderly conduct.

even with priors unless they were violent ones then this sentence is still insane.

Not your quote, but frigging this.
His priors could read like a resume for the Grand Wizard himself for all we know.

Oh well.

His mom can bring white linin and Wal-Mart chicken tenders to visiting day since he can't get drunk and retarded in the Grove this season.

In addition to prison time, Harris was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and 12 months supervised probation.

He must also undergo mental health and substance abuse treatment.

He will begin serving his sentence on January 4 with the Federal Bureau of Prison.
