Good thing I prepared for a major last night because I had doubts. Seems like it's constantly negative everything that comes out about this system. What happened to it running into shear did all that just disappear? Cat 1 is easily managed but a higher end Cat 2 or 3 after seeing a week straight of rain I can't imagine what that will do with the soggier ground. Hopefully at the very least the wind fields aren't massive and the sustained winds significantly drop off outside a smaller area. I'm not really worried about flooding in my area.

How bad do you think this will be in Metairie? Trying to decide if me and SO need to leave for my buddies house in Destin.

As of right now? Tropical storm force winds and power outages.

By late tonight you should have all the information you need to make a decision.

Luckily Ida cleared most of the trees out around my house that were any threat but there's still 1-2 that my neighbor won't let me pay to cut down.

Without reading the entire thread, what's everyone in the New Orleans area doing? Riding this out?

As long as it doesn't get worse than what is currently predicted then we ride it out.

Yes, Lake Charles is. Not the projected landfall.

Does anyone have a contact in Houma or Lafayette where we (Here to Serve) could setup?

Usually use church parking lots but what we need is enough room for four 25' trailers. Need running water but we provide everything else. And need 2 entrances to parking lot so we can deliver food in "drive thru" manner.

If you dont want to post contacts publicly you can email me at alphaandomegatd@gmail.com

You don't get any hurricane cred for riding out less than a 3 south of I-10
