Anyone else ready for Jeff Landry’s press conferences over the next 2 days?

Does anyone know if it will continue to track at 5mph, or are they expecting it to speed up on its movement. I'm worried more about it staying in this area for awhile and increasing the flooding risk. I don't want to go through 2016 again.

With gulf temps I am also worried about strrengthening if it lingers.

I didn't see a single projection putting it west of Houston.... Houston was in the cone, but the targeted track was always around the TX/LA border and now has shifted east a couple hundred miles.

Predicting storm locations several days out when data is constantly shifting is a little different than getting an order at McDonald's wrong.

If you're evacuating and someone starts to sing God Bless America, please pull over, exit the vehicle and stand at attention

I miss the old FEMA from after Katrina and Rita that gave minorities who didn't even own a house $2K checks to buy car stereos and rims with.

Well its an election year so those checks will probably be printed up..

So what is the realistic expectation for BTR right now? 50 MPH gusts?

Pardon my questions:

When a model is initialized at 6z on 09 Sept, that means that the model produced this product at 1 am, Central Daylight Time, on 09 Sept. Is this correct?

The "name" of this model run would be "the 6z run", correct?

So, when people refer to this model run, they are referring to a product that was created at 1am CDT on 09 Sept. Correct?

Thanks.

from Eric Graves about 20 min ago

quote:

PTC 6 looking much healthier this morning with big convection firing over the center. Jennings to Morgan City/Baton Rouge, LA begin making preparations.
This should be a mid to high end category 2, even possible low end 3 at landfall. Lake Charles westward would receive little impacts on the current path.
Now that the data from the hurricane hunters have been input into models, the path shouldn't change much.

Bobby Jindal's specialty during his Governorship was these storm press conferences. He actually had that shite down to an exact science.

Landry's is probably going to be much more like JBE, just a different accent.
