do yall really want to do this again today? The track has shifted ~80 miles since the storm formed, which is within their average error over 60 hours. Before it was even a storm they issued an early warning that was near the state line - a warning designed to give people more time to prep since the storm didn’t actually form for another 18 hours - and people want to say they blew it. If they waited to issue something until they had an actual center then people wouldn’t have heard about this thing until Monday morning.

unter gatherers. More homeless and destitute should return to the old ways instead of leaching govt. funds. The cat eating is obviously disturbing but aren’t stray cats a nuisance?
Cats are only off limits by law of man. Mel Gibson ate dogs in The Patriot. Denzel ate a cat in Book of Eli. Johnny Sins eats cats in many of his films

This is way too serious of a post for tBoat. I'm officially nervous.

quote:I think that is a forecast model reading, not an actual anemometer reading. I believe the only anemometer in the area is on Gunnison GB668.
The FishWeather app shows the bouy data better than NDBC. Garden Banks 426 is steady 71mph and gust mid 80s currently.
Edit… now 83 gusting to 98
But Gunnisons anemometer seems broken. No way its only see/saw those wind speeds. It is positioned 160'ish off the water and only read gusts up to 38.1 knots. The eye passed directly over it. Latest advisory position was only 20miles NE of the platform.
Magnolia TLP (GB783) seems to be a better indicator of real-time. conditions. Its anemometer is 190' up and is 70 miles ESE of lastest advisory position. Latest reading at 8:15a was S winds 58.1k (67mph) sustained and gusting to 82.9kn (95mph).
Edit to add: you can see the Magnolia station (KGBK) in the 7th pic (flight level windspeed plot) of Boats amazing post. That station perfectly matches the HH hunters recordings.

That may be one of the best/most informative posts I have ever read on here. Thank you so very much for your time and expertise.

What can I expect in the Walker area? Ida has me spooked to anything with a name. My brain tells me 50-60mph gust but my heart is telling me shite is gonna hit the fan.

Here is the actual NWS link to the station.

Jeff Landry is on The Weather Channel. No one will ever mistake him as being from any other state than Louisiana.
