I like making sure things are “covered and aligned.” Especially the spice cabinet, anything left on the workbench, dresser, desk, nightstand, or bathroom counter. Easier to spot things that way, it seems.
Another random one I’ll apply whenever possible is the process of staging. Like packing to hunt, loading a car trunk or trailer, dishes...anything really. Basically, placing things in a pile before placing them in a more neat, organized, secure pile. Can’t stop, I’m in too deep.

This wasn't really a habit, but my uncle and aunt was out partying too late at the officers club. It was 2am and he had to be on duty at 6am. Well, for entertainment the club had hired a hypnotist. My aunt expressed her concerns about her husband not getting any sleep and the hypnotist, hypnotised my uncle and told him he would wake up right at 5:30 am and feel refreshed and relaxed. Well, it worked! But untill his 70s my uncle always woke up right at 5:30 every morning.

While I wasn't in the service, I still had the indoctrination. Two things,
Speed eating and holding things in my left hand.
And I'll add, 99% of the time, my first step is my right foot.
