Just bought a 2018 Frontier(crew cab, 60,000 miles) for $7000.

I’m pretty pumped. Can’t figure out if I should immediately sell it or drive it for the next 10 years.

I’m not hating on it because of the size, but the look is just not attractive. They should have brought back the Explorer Sport Trac which accomplished the same thing but was a better looking vehicle.

So if only dudes overcompensating for a tiny dick drive F250s, is this how you announce your big hog?

People offended by the Maverick--a vehicle absolutely no one is forcing them to buy--are showing tiny dick energy.

I already have a truck but I like the Maverick. It's slotting into a market segment that doesn't exist up until now (along with the Hyundai). If I can get a Maverick or a Corolla for the same price--why wouldn't I get the maverick?

Particularly if you can *really* get one for just over 20k, which may be hard to do in this market.

There’s nothing like driving an old compact truck with a manual transmission. I had a 98 frontier in high school and I loved that truck.
My BIL bought a 99 Tacoma to save gas for work and I felt like a giant driving that thing the other day.

Saw one out on the road the other day and they look better than I expected. Probably suits the needs of 80% of the city/suburban population who just want something for light duty Lowes runs and tossing Jaxton’s dirty baseball gear in the back - I mean, it’s a little crossover with a bed attached; people who buy these aren’t looking to tow or haul much of anything.

As to automotive stereotypes, I drive a full-size truck and a little two seater convertible, so I’m a homosexual redneck with a tiny penis.

I would guess lesbian couples I noticed years ago about 50% of lesbian couples and 100% of those that fished and pulled a boat owned for rangers.

My first truck was an Isuzu 5spd truck. The compact trucks just disappeared.

If gas goes to $4-5 a gallon they won't be able to make them fast enough.

I might get one for a knock around truck. My F-350 is really only good for towing and nothing else. I would rather buy a cheap new truck than an overpriced high miles used one to knock around in.

The base MSRP must be somewhat of a gimmick. Average price paid is 29k and base is 20k? So 50% increase in price for the average options?

I think I read over at Jalopnik that Ford isn't even sending the 20k base model to dealers. You have to special order it. It's basically a price point created to get people in the door so they can be upsold the ones with more options.

Two words. El Camino.

Seriously though, I just bought a manual transmission Tacoma from a friend with granny-type
mileage for purely utilitarian reasons. It works. It has cold air. I can make sure the kids learn how to drive a car in a third-world country when the current clown world becomes too much here.

I’ve been looking at the Hyundai Santa Cruzes. They seem fun. What’s the word on them?

Ford says the 2022 Maverick – about the length of a Toyota full-size sedan but far cheaper – is already succeeding in attracting new, younger and female buyers to the company.

i really doubt it.

but i’m sure it sounded like a great woke PR statement when they decided to completely fabricate this tale.

Trucks have just gotten so damn big. I’ve driven full size crew cabs for 25 years. The new midsize GMC is about the same size as a late 90s full-size. I’m curious to see the 2023 Canyon with the 300+hp 4 cyl that runs on regular unleaded. Ram is also due a new Dakota by 2024.
