Samaritan's Purse. Specify for Idea relief.
Do not donate to United Way or Red Cross. the money goes to administration salaries.

My large gas can for generator leaked.

I don’t suppose there is any damn gas within 50 miles of Zachary?

anyone know the conditions in Robert/Hammond area

My Mom is in Hammond between Old Covington Hwy and I-12 at Airport Rd. Her neighbor sent pics showing many large trees down across road and of course power lines everywhere. The power company will have to cut their way in to work on the lines. It is just as bad as it was after Katrina. Cell service is spotty.

I always donate to local churches over the nationals (Red Cross/United Way), the churches help shelter and feed the displaced people in their community and they make an immediate impact.

Need help switching my generator from gasoline to natural gas. Generator is already plumbed to house gas line we just don't know if we can open the valve after starting/running on gasoline and if the conversion kit switches the fuel or if we need to open the line and start straight from natural gas. Don't want to get something wrong with it and mess up the generator.

Any insights or experience from others?

Anyone know any hotels for rent that have power right now and maybe a generator that's disabled pet friendly near hammond or northshore area? I went to my house on northshore and half my house is decimated which is surprising. My grandmother's house has a big arse pine planted in it. I need power for her as the hotel we staying at has some damage.can't Can't acces house due to rising waters. I can't contact anyone due to cell congestion. This website is pretty spotty too not sure if it will go through.

Pet friendly hotels in your area. Call them and see if they have power.

Your best bet would be traveling out if you can- for power.

Those that TorNation listed as well as Catholic Charities of Acadiana or SWLA.
None of these care what someone’s religious affiliation or if they have one to help.
Sadly there was a misconception about this in LC after Laura.

Hey baw, we love us some BBQ and from one Tiger to another we’re doing everything we can from BoCoMo. The wives are burning up Twitter, FB, & IG asking everyone to keep our SEC folk in mind. There’s 2 semi’s rolling out of Columbia tomorrow morning loaded with life’s necessities & Mo. Task Force 1 arrived over the weekend and are aiding in fire and rescues as we speak, they’re not the the Cajun Navy but they good. Crazy how TD works, one of my daughter’s best friends and she’s like family to us, her daddy is there right now w/ Mo.TF1

And for those who have cell sevice/wifi, following @NWSNewOrleans on Twitter is a good idea. They've done a great job Tweeting out alot of useful and helpful information even since Ida has passed.

Is there anyone that’s going to be heading back east on i10 that needs a generator? I’m in Welsh with a brand new Firman 3650 watts (no wheels) that I’m willing to let someone use. Three guys I didn’t know helped me get a large tree off my house after Laura, and I’d like to repay the kindness.
I’m at work during the day so it would have to be after 5pm. Let me know baws.

If anyone outside of Covington/Mandeville needs assistance I have a group of friends with heavy equipment ready to go.

Tree cutting, etc..

They’re heading to Houma later tomorrow.

Please reply to this particular message and I’ll check it regularly.
