We shot them as kids, but I lived a little further out in "the country" I guess. You could hear everyone popping, but it wasn't on top of you. Now I live in a subdivision and have a 2 year old. When guy next door is shooting mortar shells 15' from my house, it's a bit different. Especially when they are supposed to be "illegal" in The Woodlands (signs every 10'). People stopped by 10 for the most part, so I can't really complain. But I just don't think I'm personally comfortable shooting fireworks in a neighborhood where you're on top of each other. Or at least if I did it, I'd have to be done by 9ish.
Wouldn't bother me in the least if it wasn't for the kid sleeping. Man I'm getting old

I was up at midnight last night listening to the sound of fireworks popping in my neighborhood. I woke up to them still going off at 4 a.m.

I'm a patriotic person but I think fireworks should be left to cities/counties. There are a lot of people who want to avoid fireworks and we should give them the opportunity to avoid the noises.

This is always my problem with it as well. It gets a little old outside of the actual day most people shoot them.
