I think this would be a really bad plan from a business standpoint. They are sitting on a ton of goodwill and potential product sales from a generation of young kids. You have invested in park attractions. This is before you talk about movie revenue. Why would you stake an established franchise in such a risk? I think heads would roll if they were to fail. Wall Street is already uneasy about star wars and that brand is still intact.
If this is important to them they should let it stand on its own merit.
