But you do realize there has to be a balance right? We can’t wait until no one in America tests positive for COVID-19.
When did I say anything like this? I have two grandparents living, I have family with cancer, one who recently had a transplant, one with alzhiemers, and one who had a stroke a few years back who never fully recovered. I would rather those people stay protected until stuff is figured out. I know they can just stay inside (because that will be the reply), but they have people living with them who would have to go out, and if this was spreading even more they would be much more likely to catch it. I know this concept is too much for some to grasp.

Yes, because all of those things are spread from person to person.

Let me know when a person with cancer will spread it to three people within a week on average.

Cars crossing the median is very much a person to person death. How many people did we lose to car crashes last year?
We're giving up freedom for safety.

And what exactly is that?
This has been my point against shutting everything down over this. When does it stop? There will be no finish line or “final day” of this virus.

Remind me, unchecked will pedestrian-related deaths increase exponentially day-to-day?

A death is a death. Are you saying there is a ranking in deaths?!?!?

Ok great. I think that's an incredibly dumb argument, but you are entitled to your own opinion, just like I am to mine.
You can continue throw out these stupid numbers, and I'll continue to think that we are doing the right thing. I wish they would have done more, sooner. You won't change my mind, no matter how many dumb numbers you want to throw up.

I'm not sure how pedestrians are involved here. Car crash fatalities dont dramatically increase, they stay high as hell all the time, every day of every year.

When growth falls under R1 and the medical systems can manage new cases.

Your "points" are all over the place and the ramblings of a madman.

I'll take that bet.

You people take a comment and twist it into your own stupid conclusions. My point was that the things you named are not spread by person to person contact dumbass.

So you’re waiting for the government to tell you it’s ok to leave your house. Ok

Oh, wow. So you mean it's nothing like an infectious disease spread.

They are actually incredibly low due to safety features and . . . wait for it . . . state regulation.

I grasp it. And that’s a really tough situation to be in man. Excuse my perceived lack of sympathy.
There’s no black and white obviously answer. Hopefully as a country we find the right balance, so that neither path is too grave. But it’s something we have to start talking about and I would expect our leaders to begin developing timelines.

If we’re giving up freedoms to prevent deaths, who draws the line on what deaths are important? Oh yea, the government that’s right.

No, I'm following the statistics and listening to the experts in infectious disease management.
I leave for groceries and things like that and just hang out otherwise. But I also have the ability to comprehend statistics and scale which is clearly lost on many people in this thread.
