Texas passed a law that says I no longer have to notify or ask for HOA approval to erect/build a fence, so long as I obtain a building permit and the fence meets the requirements of the city.

I plan to test that law, soon.

Apparently, standing in your front yard and yelling to your neighbor to "Watch out, here comes the Clipboard counts" is frowned upon, but not against the rules either.

I think that's quite neighborly.

With that logic I should just wait for the city to cut the strip of grass in between my sidewalk and the street.

I believe his point is you’re not allowed to block the sidewalk with a vehicle in your driveway. I believe practically all cities will have laws prohibiting this, it’s an ADA/accessibility thing.

As close as houses are and most are 2 stories most peoples entire back yard is seen from a neighbor's property

In NC in a very affluent neighborhood, they wouldn't allow any trucks in the driveway. ever, even if you owned one. Service vehicles were led to the rear if possible. Karen does not want to see any truck.

The funny thing is the gated community was built on a landfill. and it is named landfall.

So if you owned say... a 4Runner, and parked it in the driveway, your good, but if you had a Tacoma or a Tundra, you couldn't park it in the driveway?

it has been years but I am not reading through the Karen rules. LINKI did still see a truck violation. But generally, the senators, lawyers that live there don't drive trucks.

I do.

The 24 hour rule is probably to protect homeowners from the HOA Nazis that flag you for coming home at 4 on one odd day and bringing your cans in instead of 3 like you normally do.

My shite is back behind the garage by dusk. I'm not a savage, after all.

That all seems reasonable

I've never been part of an HOA that does any of those things.

What kind of moron would buy a house where the HOA can control the INTERIOR of your house? I refuse to believe that is even a thing.

HOA's can be petty, but they are a net positive to your property values.

They have to be petty because of all the shitty people out there.

Seems like a lot of those shitty people post on the OT.

my SIL got cited for her curtains inside her house. she saw the Karen's walking around. also cited because kids were climbing a medium sized tree.

I just bought a place on a city street and its refreshing to know I don't have an HOA breathing down my neck.

no they don’t. How about being nuanced and if someone is being shitty then be petty to them. Being petty to Joe and Kathy that just want to mind their own business and go about life quietly but forgot to move their trash can back one day is stupid.

His across the street neighbor knocked on the door and complained that the ambulance was parked directly across the street from his driveway, and that they needed to move it.
I would’ve said sure we can move it to your drive way then walked him to his house and beat his arse

ETA: I wouldn’t have but it’s fun to be internet tough sometimes
