My wife and her friends (no pics) are staying at a condo in Perdido. They got the key directly from the owner so they are good not having to deal with the real estate co.

quote:Keep in mind that that is not 500 per 100,000 ACTIVE CASES (although I thought it was 700 per 100000 in most cases)
The counties had to submit a safety plan to the state for approval to be able to resume short term rentals. Some went so far as to agree not to rent to residents of states with 500 positive COVID cases per 100,000 residents. Louisiana is one of the states that fall in that category.
It is based on total cases which is nonsensical. As the number per 100,000 residents will on increase and never go down as actual case numbers can only go up. So areas with higher active cases or areas that are larger active hotspots currently can still be allowed in while louisiana is not because of the number of cases they had a month and a half ago

I booked a condo in Destin for 7/2-7/9 no issues.
Jetty East Destin
Even called to make sure I wouldn't get cancelled and they said "come on down".

Yeah I think the state said it had to be 700 but I saw at least one county was using 500. And that is a nonsensical metric to use as you pointed out.

I booked a Condo in Destin a week ago for those dates and asked before booking if there would be a issue. They told me it was not a problem and they hope I enjoy my stay.

If you are looking at renting a condo, just inform the rental agency that the primary purpose of your trip is to look at condos for purchasing...then they will allow you to rent. It is a "loophole" with the current ordinance.

Interesting. Worth a shot.

Good for you that you have been lucky that you were booked with someone with common sense. Just be careful though, some people I know who have been getting cancelled were getting the calls/emails two or three days before their trip
Why are they waiting so late? Where is the order saying no rentals?

It basically states that if your trip is "business related" that you can rent.

Finally got it booked. Booked in Navarre. I messaged a ton of people and asked prior to booking because I've already had a trip in Rosemary Beach cancelled. This place wrote me back and said I was good to go so I booked it.
