Anyone have any idea when Florida will allow residents to book condos again? I can't find any info. We are trying to go July 11-18th and the one I booked made me cancel. I've messaged several others and none will let me book. Surely that will change soon but I can't find any info on it.

Try Emerald Coast By Owner. You can email and call owners directly instead of dealing with rental companies. The owners are allowed to let family and "friends" use their condo.

I think that the current restrictions end on July 3, so hopefully after that date condos can be rented to Louisiana residents.

We were told June 1st.

We locked down the first week of August in St George Island......they are open for business.
Now, we are renting a house.....and we reside in TX

Is it really that strict for you guys out of Louisiana? I flew into Orlando Saturday and have been staying in one of my timeshares in Ormond Beach this week. Restaurants are open and pool restrictions have been lifted. Weather sucks today.

My parents places have completely booked up through the summer within the last 2 weeks. I'm not sure whos not taking reservations or being weird about it, but their agencies aren't.

It’s county by county.
Counties have to submit plans for reopening rentals and have them approved.

I've had a few family members get their shite canceled that was scheduled in the next 2 weeks. Both in Emerald Coast.

The counties had to submit a safety plan to the state for approval to be able to resume short term rentals. Some went so far as to agree not to rent to residents of states with 500 positive COVID cases per 100,000 residents. Louisiana is one of the states that fall in that category. I know people who have stayed at AirBnB from Louisiana but it’s not so easy when dealing with a management company. Plus the checkpoint is still at the state line on I-10 where I hear you have to sign something saying you will quarantine for 14 days.

This is a non issue so don't even worry about it unless you think it's a traffic concern. They haven't done a damn thing to check on if anyone is quarantining for 14 days.
It's a stupid fcking waste of time and resources so that some blue hairs can be told the state is protecting them.

Good for you that you have been lucky that you were booked with someone with common sense. Just be careful though, some people I know who have been getting cancelled were getting the calls/emails two or three days before their trip.
