Timeless:
Cargo shorts.
Poly and poly blend polo shirts.
Yoga pants. They've been around long enough to not be a fad.

Fad
Flannel shirts (unless you're a lumberjack).
J-Lo sunglasses

I'm waiting for the return of the leisure suit.

Only with the return will it be given its true and rightful status.

To my knowledge, Tapout wasn't much of a fad. Kind of a, "I'm not in high school any more, so I can't wear my letter jacket" thing. If I wear this, everyone will think I'm the next big MMA star. In Dallas, I really never saw anyone but high school, and a few college aged guys working out, wearing them. Maybe some grown Mexicans, or folks in Wylie or Ennis, wore them too.

I kid you not, sitting in the Danna Center, in Hardee's one morning for breakfast, mid to late 1980s, a busload of high school kids from some school in SW Louisiana, walked in. There was ONE student in the entire group that did NOT have on a Coca-Cola rugby shirt. One.

If the school had told them they had to wear them, they would not have.

My grandmother worked as a seamstress at Chalk Line in AL for a long time. I used to have tons of Chalk Line clothes and now certain jackets are worth a thousand dollars.

At the ripe old age of 14, I got my first stinky finger at Fun Fair Park while wearing a Dallas Cowboys pullover Starter jacket, Girbaud jeans, and Jordans. To this day, I fully attribute it to my wardrobe for the night.

Will never go out of style

yeah, they did go in and out of style (isn't that a song?), but sadly, their popularity among 13 year old girls made all converse chuck taylors verbotten for me. I have several pair from years ago, but haven't worn them in a long time.

there should be a shape requirement for women to wear those and overweight should be automatic exclusion.

They're still making stuff, mainly for WWE.

Certainly as bad as what you consider timeless.
