Girbaud, K-Swiss (or Top-siders), and a Polo was standard fare in the mid 80's.

Unfortunately, I also remember as a youngster having parachute pants, moon shoes, and a Member's Only jacket.

Wearing them all together would have made that train wreck complete.

I still wear the same casual style of clothes that I did growing up, through high school and college:

Chino shorts(7" inseam) or pants
Polo shirts
Oxford button down shirts
Sperry's
