Similar to Chic filet. How is this not easily replicated? People are dying to pay for great quality and service.

That’s just working the brisket counter.

Agreed, weird stuff. I live in a small town The longest running restaurant in our town changed their hours over a year ago. They used to be open from morning to night 6 days a week and closed early on Sunday. Now they close at 2 every day. They claim it's because they can't staff it anymore do to worker shortage.
Meanwhile another restaurant in town opens. They are open 7 days a week form 6am-9pm every day except Sunday where they close at 2. I went in there the other day and they had 7 people on the floor either hosting, filling drinks, cleaning tables or waiting on customers.
I'm starting to think the other restaurant is a money laundering operation.

When you were pumping gas did you see the flyer above the pumps advertising their job postings? The lowest worker there that just takes out the trash makes $15/hour. It goes up from there and the people that do things like manage the kitchn area make like $22/hour.
It seems pretty simple to me....when you pay a decent wage, provide excellent training, and create a fun culture to work in...you're not ever going to have problems retaining staff. Compare all of the above to place like Krystal or popeyes and it's no wonder there's such a stark difference in experience at each.

I thought the brisket sandwich at the one in Wharton, TX was pretty good.

We have them in Fl all over 95 now. I stay far, far away. Tourist trap. Lines are crazy long and IG all stars taking pics in front of Buc-ee?

quote:Cant believe they didnt build one on I-12 when they had the chance. When my wife was in school in Austin we'd road trip or I'd make the drive myself and sometimes would pit stop at every Buc-ees along the way between BR and there. You'd get a meal, snacks for the car, fill up station and bathroom break.
The OT has made me a believer: this place is a must-stop during a road trip.
It's a damn shame we don't have one in Louisiana yet.

I'm just glad that I rarely drive in the direction of where the new one in AL is going in.

It’s absolutely a top tier gas station. Especially the bathrooms

I got the sliced. If I tried to eat a chopped beef sandwich while driving, I would have brisket all over me and the floorboard...LOL

We were supposed to have had one in Louisiana Millerville exit I-12.
It is now a Golden Corral but was originally going to be a Buc ees.
I talked with Manager of a Texas location and asked what happened to this planned location and he said Louisiana Labor Laws is what killed the deal and caused Buc ees to cancel the planed Louisiana location
I believe at the time this would have been first location outside of Texas.

We have one in Richmond. About a 45 minute drive for me, haven't been there yet.

We used to hunt duck down in Wharton and that Buc-ees was where we met and since we were all coming from Houston it was always literally a foot race to the bathrooms and yes, they are glorious. I only wish Louisiana could get one. All they get is signs saying how many miles into the next state they are located.

So much well deserved hype on the OT about Buc-ees. It's the greatest run business of all time. Great customer service and products they have everywhere. A must stop in Baytown and Foley whenever I hit up Houston/Florida. Love Buc-ees.
