I'm pretty sure I met the owner or the A&M prick you are referring too down in Freeport one morning getting ice back in the early 2000's heading offshore when it was actually worthwhile to go after the elusive Red Snapper. They used to sell ice dirt cheap and all the offshore guys would stop there to get ice and fuel. That's how we met him since he had a group and they were also going offshore. Pretty sure he has some family from NE LA. He seemed cool though. I didn't know he was an Aggie though. Also, I believe he actually co-owns Buc-ees with another dude. They still have operations in Lake Jackson.

Can't really argue with this as sad as it is.

Because they KNOW Louisiana would ruin it.

If I put some pumps in front of an Academy sports, would it just be a gas station?

No, it would be a retarded hodgepodge of shitty athletic gear and cheap gas.

What’s your point?

Bought the Cajun pecans yesterday. Must be from some drought stricken shite orchards in Texas. Big fat Priester's pecans from Alabama for the win. Don't waste your money on those cactus pecans.

The original Buc-ees is in Lake Jackson TX. Just a few miles south (2-3 miles from the beach in Surfside) is another location that has a fishing section that rivals Academy. They are on a much smaller parcel of land and only have 8-10 pumps. You can get ethanol free marine fuel there and the place looks like a black Friday wal-mart every weekend of the year.

Technically it's a convenience store and the New Braunfels location is the record holder for world's largest.

Technically it is actually the one near Gatlinburg TN that is the record holder.

The Foundation For Buc-ee's Was Formed In Louisiana
quote:

Beaver, the creator of Buc-ee's, learned how to run his stores in Central Louisiana. His grandparents owned a general mercantile store on the shore of the Ouachita River in Harrisonburg, the seat of Catahoula Parish.

Stories say Beaver would often try to run the cash register at his grandparents store in Catahoula Parish, but was always told he was too young. But he was able to find work in the store, from pumping gas to working in the isles. Beaver was absorbing the knowledge around him.

So next time you stop into your favorite Buc-ee's, remember that the seeds for the legendary pit-stop came from right here in Louisiana.

And Queenisha at the register checking you out that says nothing other than “would you like a receipt.” When you leave she goes back to watching TikTok videos made to Lil Boosie songs.

Do you know what I want at a gas station? Cheapest gas and I get and maybe a bottle or can of something to drink. Oh...and maybe a coffee from Speedway.

You sound like you never venture very far away from home

Did I miss anyone praising that they have Ethanol-free fuel?

For all the outboard motors, for all the lawnmowers and small engine yard care machines, heck for all the classic cars. Bless them, every one.

The only problem with the Buckees experience on a road trip is that going into one is a guaranteed half hour, or more, stop. The new one in Crossville TN has a line backed up a good qtr mile to I40 a lot of times.
