Sentiment appreciated, but those numbers don't add up (because it's $438, not $538 annual property tax increase).

bet MOP went out of her way to be a royal, condescending arse at the meeting.

Does MOP really have to go out of her way to accomplish this feat?

Well, you are correct that is her natural state. However, even the biggest assholes are capable of upping their game when necessary.

Your nextdoor folks apparently aren't strong in math LOL.

quote:

Total Yearly Increase = $538 + $141 = $579

$538 + $141 = $679 increase in taxes if the rest of the numbers are correct.

But seriously, why would she be at the meeting in the first place? She should not be involved in any way.

Nothing about that seems combative at all.

I can't disagree

Either way emotions are running high in the hood. I still see NO NEW TAXES signs

MOP is a ball buster of an old lady who I would love to have as my attorney.

But she should not be part of a negotiating team in this situation

It’s a pissing contest now, and you know she wants to be right in the middle of it so she can get on TV.

Is it bad if the first thing you think is there is at least an 80% chance that lawyer is being paid with state funds to represent her as a private citizen?

I get why she wants to be there. I'm wondering why anyone would allow her to be there. She's not representing the city. She's not representing the mayor as the mayor. She's just some a-hole's a-hole attorney. Kick her arse out of the room.

Plus, there's this nugget from the article:

quote:

Pierson says all that is premature, as she expects her lawsuit to drag out the process of incorporation for at least a couple of years.

So...this lawsuit is purely for delay.

Sounds like a violation of Rule 3.1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct and certainly Rule 3.2.

Also, since she's not going to admit that in her pleadings or before the Court, you can pencil in 8.4(d) as well.

Hope she enjoyed being a lawyer.

Bringing a personal attorney representing a private citizen into a private meeting for city officials to discuss public affairs is absurd. MOP shouldn’t even be allowed in that room

Depends on who handles the case, I’m sure.

The OT’s favorite judge on the civil side of the 19th JDC sure won’t take any of that seriously. The appeals court is a different matter.

While I have no doubt the meeting was probably contentious, the BR Business Report is very much anti-St. George, so just know their reporting is done through that prism.

St George just needs to incorporate into the City of Central. The lines are drawn for this very reason. It wasnt an accident that these two cities touch boundary lines. frick Baton Rudge big time with that move.

I agree. The meeting was with the Mayor, who she does not represent. She represents private citizen SWB.
