Remember, if your dog pees on the floor, shits his thunderwear, or cowers under the bed at the sound of fireworks, have it spayed or neutered. With a little care, we can breed the pussification out of America’s crop of canines.

We live in a small but nice subdivision. All of our kids are around the same ag and when they were younger we would al get together and each family would put in a couple hundred dollars and the dads would light them.

Collectively we probably spent a couple thousand dollars, but per family it was vv affordable.

And we all cleaned up the next day bc we’re not trashy and we all like our neighborhood and neighbors.

As long as they shoot them off now instead of waiting until midnight as though it’s New Year’s Eve, I don’t much care.

The chucklefricks that do the grand finale at midnight can eat a dick, though.

It sounds like a firefight, but so far there's no smoke smell.

All the smaller subdivisions around my house get together and put on a show. Have to be spending a solid grand or better given what they put up. I just grab a drink and enjoy it all from my porch.

I'm surprised the National Guard didn't show up in my neck of the woods. We love the sound of Freedom

My dad was born to haggle with the fireworks stand guy, it was one of his favorite things to do. His eyes would glaze over like some wild animal when they confronted each other.

He would spend an hour going back and forth then load the truck up with about $500.00 worth and in about 30 minutes we would shoot all of them up.

Every Christmas morning through my youth my stocking was stuffed to the brim with fireworks

I read this in the voice of the narrator from A Christmas story

I didn’t see nearly as many people in the neighborhood setting off fireworks tonight as I thought I would. We didn’t buy any this year- we went to a show at the Elk’s Club instead

Nah. 700 bucks for fireworks is a lot less fireworks than last year or the year before or the year before.

Anyone that pays $700 for fireworks should never be allowed to complain about the price of groceries. Ever. When money gets tight, fireworks should be the first item that gets cut.

Shut up commie.
This is America. We waste money on stupid shite. It’s the American way.

700 is pretty normal. I got called off the bench to help a friends fundraiser tent this year. Small tent that hasn’t turned a profit in 3 years. I came in and priced and merchandised for them. Probably 6k in inventory cleared 20k so far. Not much left to sell when I stopped by around 9 pm to check on them. Folks were spending mucho dinero around here this year.

Is this what Gaza feels like? I’m pretty sure one of my neighbors just set off a bomb. Shook the windows good

It was tame in New Iberia. I heard them sporadically. Just hear a few traces now.

Currently overlooking Lake Union on the south slope of Queen Anne and blown away by the beauty of it all. Sun is just setting at 9:50. The setting sun on the downtown Seattle skyline is next level. Will come here again next year and many years to come I think.

Are we supposed to be walking in to others yards and collecting debris?

I thought policing your own yard on the 5th was universally understood.
