Has this "customer" been id'ed?

She should have assault and battery charges brought against her in Judge Michelle Odinet's courtroom.

I understand there was a policy and all, but did they really need to fire a 10 year employee for this?

The policy is there to protect the corporation from lawsuits, but this fricking queen hasn't even been named. That ghetto bitch isn't coming out to sue academy for this shite.

We're going to let shoplifters frick the retail world up for us. You won't even be able to walk into a big box store without giving your name address and phone number at the door.

I tend to lean that way too. Additionally, most leadership in retail have bonuses or incentives often correlated to shrink rate, but you don’t want them to stop theft?

So they fired a lady who actually gave a shite about her job. Nice move. How many employees in her position would have tried to stop the thief? A vast majority would have turned a blind eye.

Hero fired for being assaulted while protecting corporate owned assets. What a time to be alive.

That is absolutely outrageous. Truly pathetic on the part of Academy. Going to have to reconsider buying all of my bullets from there.

Looks like she handled it pretty well from what I can see.

Agreed. This Academy is like 2 minutes from my house and where I buy most of my clothes and outdoor gear. I'd have a hard time to completely stop going there, but damn this pisses me off. They need to reconsider their action here.

That's the kicker on top of all the other BS: she was actually very professional in a situation where just about anyone else could have gotten out of hand.

This only enables the behavior of the vermin who shoplift. That’s all it does. It’s a gift that they will not pass up.

It is unbelievably horrific though. Employee trying to do the right thing gets fired. Piece of shite thief intent on doing the wrong thing not only gets away with it, but is encouraged to do it again and again and again

They got fired for not following policy, they should have let the thief go since that is pretty much policy at any box store.

Retail companies bitch out and hide behind their don't engage a shoplifter policies. Which is the main reason stores are robbed blind these days.

You work for your employer and follow their rules, plain and simple. You don’t do what your employer says, you can be fired. She was a manager and should have known what her employer’s rule for theft was.

think they mean thief

The article kept saying customer, but Customers are people that exchange currency for goods and services. Soo, definitely a thief. They should have at minimum used the "Alleged" thief, if they felt it was wrong to label someone.
