Well, the worker’s comp suit for injury and PTSD should be interesting!

Was this like 25 years ago? The cops aren't going to care about following up in shoplifting case and even if they did, the chance of any real punishment is slim.

You're backwards there bud. It's higher today than 10 years ago, by far. Technology has made it infinitely easier to find them. Now penalty-wise, they are absolutely not punished harshly enough. I'm on the same side as most of you on how shitty theft is and how frustrating it us that they get wrist slaps. That doesn't change the fact that it's stupid to chase someone stealing shite, most of them have nothing to lose, I do.

What this boils down to is stores like these have a "policy" that says payment is optional.

Pretty sure they have that policy to avoid dealing dealing with any legal action from thieves who will claim racism.

And honestly, if they refuse to change their policy, the only way to force the issue is to have everyone that walks in the store take advantage of it.

Good call. You should go steal some shite, videotape it, and start a social media trend.... #prosecutethieves.

Classic.

Maybe instead of theft insurance they should invest in injury insurance. Then they could change their policy and take out two birds with one stone?

What? Big box stores literally have theft & damage insurance...
Injury insurance isn't an option, all are "self-insured".

This kind of shite is infuriating. I have spent a ton of money there over the years, no more though!

Anyone have a corporate # or email address? Looked online, even called their main customer service line, but nothing. They need to hear how their customers feel.

Edit: I see the post above with Customerservice@academy.com, but I assume that goes to the same people I just called who have no idea how to report the complaint. She gave me a # to their corporate office in Katy, TX that didn't work.

Would be cool if people in that area stepped up to help this lady. Maybe a job and a nice donation. I know it says this lady doesn't want any attention. But how sweet would the karma be if ppl stepped up and gave this lady a new and maybe better job a big donation and it got enough publicity that this fricking animal thief saw it plastered all over the news.

Academy. Going to have to reconsider buying all of my bullets from there.

Why buy them when apparently you can just walk out of the store with whatever you want.

Or does this shopping loophole only exist for 13% of our population?

damn, this is happening in laffy?

Like many retail locations, theft is an issue that Academy has to deal with on a regular basis and the Ambassador Caffery location is no exception. Thieves in the area know the protocol is for store associates to allow them to walk right out of the front door with the merchandise.
