I see da corona ramping up again towards the end of summer just as a Cat 5 bears down on the US. Right about the time football season is about to start.

Is it just south of 98 or did the fire go north also?

My sister lives on Santa Rosa Beach golf club. Evacuated grabbed dogs in a rush, got an escort back to grab medicine, etc. They cut power and she is staying at her sons place near PCB. Very sad. I just was there Saturday. She says smoke is thick and ash is flying.

Saw a huge column of smoke rising far in the east as I drove northbound on the causeway today. Guessing that was the Gulfport blaze

Driving to Miramar Beach tomorrow afternoon, are we going to have trouble with this?

No, you won’t have a problem. The issue today was in the Milton area and I believe that has been contained and I-10 is back open.

Never mind. I-10 is currently still closed.

It is a giant clusterfrick. It took my husband 5 hours to get from Navarre to Milton last night. Horrible. DO NOT come over here until I-10 opens again or you will be hating life.

That fire has now grown to 2000 acres from 250 yesterday.

Seems awfully coincidental that you have three burning

Considering that biome along the coast is meant to burn every couple years, no, it's not coincidental.

Unrelated to the fire, but Roy Jones Jr. lives in the Milton area.

Get off at Buccees and take 90 to 98 all the way in. Milton to the north is a cluster.

Not going home today. Made a tee time for 9:15 at Regatta.

The Walton county fire has been contained so 98 and 30a are open.

There were two seperate fires in Mississippi.

One in Gulfport near Canal Road last week but its out now, is being investigated as arson.

Another in Hancock County that is ongoing last I heard.

I didn't notice any smoke this morning. That one might be dying out.

You can’t be 100% sure that’s unrelated.
