You save on taxes when trading in. The trade in amount reduces the taxable amount. It likely gets pretty close to the few grand you're trying to eek out with the losers.

It's always been easy.
I try and negotiate before I go out. I've bought 3 cars off marketplace now.
Everyone a good deal. Only odd one was one guy wanted a cashiers check and not cash so that delayed the deal. Most want cash and I had cash.
I've sold four cars on marketplace and Craigslist and each time they negotiated after arriving which was fine. Each still paid over my bottom price. . (This is over last 15 years fb been around a while now)

I thought facebook was for sharing what you had for lunch.

In fairness to this question, I’ve made offers on things before only to be told “It’s already sold.” Then why is the ad still posted? If you gave it to your drug dealer offline at least take the fricking thing down.
I don’t know why people get upset asking if it’s available either. I’m inquiring about it and very often it’s still listed after it’s sold. So frick off if I’m asking if it’s available to purchase.

Man, realize what you have. By all means, park it roadside and desl with those hazards.
Youre reaching 1000s of people with very little effort .
Stop bitching

Just step into any public place and look at who surrounds you. It amazes me 70% of the population can survive the day without a caretaker.

Hmmmm
Reminds me exactly of this place.

You would do just as well as have a Jewish Lightning incident and taking what the insurance company says it’s worth,

Maybe but as a byproduct I enjoyed reading about your anguish. Thank you.

Sold an old washer and dryer on FB a few months back. At one point I had over 100 unread messages and 90% just said is it available. Every single one of those got ignored. Answer a question here and there and get right to asking them when they can get it and ignore the lowballs and sob stories as well.

Almost as bad as the idiots that can't write ads nor take pictures.
"faord taurs for sale" (see above picture).
Year? Mileage? Price? Condition? Picture that we can actually see?
fricken a, I'll take it.

So I went to go get a donation car for my son's b-day and this guy wanted me to pay him I hate Facebook

I've never sold anything as big as a car but with my fb marketplace experience, I started just finding someone I know that wants it or I just throw the item away. I can't deal with those people.
After 10s of messages, it will probably take a week or 2 for someone serious to come along.

I learned that this is offensive but still not sure why. Seems like a reasonable inquiry.

quote:I just bought an old tacoma with a lot miles from a seller on marketplace. List price was $5900. Engine purred like a kitten, transmission shifted smooth. Ended up getting it for $5700. I got a deal. Seller was happy. And it all happened in a Tractor Supply parking lot.
I mean that’s kind of on you. Who sells a car on Facebook?
