Does a sport exist where that sports best female athletes could defeat that sports best male athletes in competition?

Does bleeding from your genitals for a week and not dieing count?

No. Not at all.

Remember that best of all time female golfer who couldn't even qualify with the men when she tried?

The super long distance swimming and running answers are legit though. Also, everyone saying no to the gymnastics are assuming that the mutual field of competition would be the men events which rely more on strength and not the women's events which rely more on flexibility. As a sport though it seems that it is difficult to say one person is better than another because so much relies on judgement.

This is a sport where feminist great white hopes keep trying to put up a woman in the hopes that she will be competitive, but it never happens. Wie and Sorenstam both fell pretty flat.

I would pay any amount of money for you to link to me saying that. But enjoy your upvotes I suppose.

Michelle Wie in her prime wouldn't finish in the top 10 of the master's tournament much less beat men and be number 1.

The only sport women stand a chance at beating men in is baseball. The bases are so close together, speed difference doesn't really come into play, women can be trick slow pitchers and strike men out, out field doesn't take much talent, and women don't need to hit home runs, they can get rbis all day.

She would have beaten any nonpro. She might have beaten a few pro men but nobody in the top 100.

Don't get me wrong, there's no way in hell I'd hang with her either, but the original question was top female pros vs. top male pros. Extreme long distance endurance events are about the only ones where there is real parity. Anything else, the top women will still beat the hell out of very serious amateur men but not full time male professionals.

The dividing line (for the guys) seems to be "Do you have a day job to pay the bills while you train, or do you have a sponsor paying you to train full time?" Top sponsored women are usually slightly better than even the most serious guys who work to pay their training bills.

Not from the men's tees on a course set up for men. College male golfers would have destroyed her.

Archery, shooting, and table tennis I could see a woman being able to beat a man.

I do believe women outperform men in archery. No to table tennis.

Billiards is all I got.

Tennis, idk. Serena is built like a man. No offense to her, but she could hold her own I would think.

Not on a completely equal playing field.
Actually you are correct, you don't realize it. Maybe on no field, but in the water women are better endurance swimmers. I'm not sure if they are faster or can be faster in short distances, although I doubt it. The reason why they are better long distance swimmers is because of their extra fat in their asses and tits that helps them use less energy.

#1 & #2 yes, I'm going to reserve judgment on #3.

Shooting was the first thing that came into my mind when I read this.

Maybe eventually automobile, horse or airplane racing as well.

I'm surprised everyone's so adamant about tennis. Didn't Billy Jean King win the battle of the sexes match?

I just wanted to say that I scrolled through this entire thread expecting someone to make the "Crossfit" comment, and so far nothing.

I'm a little bit disappointed, this place is slipping.

no, no she's not, I laughed my arse off when I was watching her "pitch" to some old, and I mean old former major leaguers in some sort of benefit, and she was giving it her best stuff, the old(pervy) coots were humoring her and just having a good time, one old dude whiffed and she goes all Don Larsen with some typical softball style celebration, the next three dudes that came up took her cocky arse downtown
