Do we just love small government? I love governing morality.

I haven't seen a phone book in years, but used to have escort service in the yellow pages. Had a friend order one. Didn't think it was legit until then. (Circa 2007)

Registered Republican here. Voted for Trump. Happily. But goddamn I wish his administration would get over policing drugs and sex. Just let the free market reign. :smh:

They don't promote it this is ridiculous. Women just put the ads on there, there isn't much you can do. Hell there are escort sites all over the Internet anyways

They were knowingly helping ad buyers use code words for pedophilia to mask their illegal activities. That’s pretty shitty.

If they’re of age independent workers, then they should be left alone. Conservative here as well.

Your idea is true but your example isn't what is tried to stop. For human labor trafficking, its about offering some big jobs to poor people from out of state or country, have them do the work and then close up shop. They have no money and no real way to get back to where they're from.

It's about exploitation. You don't have to be a sex slave to be a victim of trafficking.

I thought this happened like a year ago

It cracks me up that the govt thinks shutting down a website solves anything. In the entire history of the internet, when one site gets shut down, several more open.

Those agencies can be used as a barometer for the local economy.

Things got so bad in New Orleans during the mid 80s oil crunch that all the agencies in the book went under.

When people in New Orleans aren’t spending money on hookers, you know the economy sucks.

Or, you know, give them the ability to form legitimate businesses out of selling their own adult bodies for sex. That way we can have industry standards and protections for both workers and the johns.

America will never fricking learn that creating black markets makes things worse almost every time.

This makes too much sense which is why they'll never do it. Just look at Nevada and Amsterdam. It works and it's safer for everyone involved. Workers are tested for STDs regularly, protected by security, and pay taxes on wages earned. The Johns are protected as well by being in a secure establishment and not having to meet up with some meth addicted slut with a disease riddled cooch at a roach infested motel with a high probability of getting mugged.

Isn’t it just one county in NV that has it legalized?

Just about all are legalized except Washoe and Clark county. There might be some smaller ones in there, but for your purposes it isn't legal in LV or Reno

A lot of the local, 1 day a week papers are in deep doo doo. I would wager backpage was their biggest sponsor.

I don’t get it. Why would Backpage ‘sponsor’ the local papers? That doesn’t make sense.

They aren’t, he has no clue what he’s talking about. Back page was a copy of Craig lists and even had sections for selling furniture but nobody actually used it

One can simultaneously favor shutting down Backpage (underage girls) and favor the legalization and regulation of prostitution. It's perfectly consistent.

Personally I have no real problem with Backpage but then maybe I don't have all the information either. It's not my cup of tea, as I would never wear a condom while having sex and would never have sex with a hooker without a condom. So I'll just stick to the whole monogamy thing.

rubmaps still ok?

I had not heard of rubmaps but went to the site after seeing it here and you can’t get on. I’m sure their servers were completely overloaded especially on a Friday

They’ll find other ways

I’m sure they can advertise on Craigslist under the services section, subsection therapeutic. Pretty sure that’s how some Asian massage places get busted
