I don't know why I do this to myself, but I continue to go into that Gawd Awful Place to fax my expense report (this is the ONLY reason to have a land line at home)...but they force you to use shitty arse fax machines out front that never work, kick you off mid fax...or they do not transmit what you send, even though the machine claims it was transmitted. I have never been to one where customer service was nice, the service is slow, restrooms are worst then a gas station, and they are so overpriced.

Today, a less then 2 minute fax turned into a 35 minute cluster frick.

Honestly, Fed Ex Kinko's can GFO. I am using UPS from now on.

I know, CSB.

I email my expense report.

Why can't you do that?

Don't libraries have faxes you can use? Maybe try that next time.

That's what you get for using a fax machine. Modernize, Gramps.

Wish I could. I guess it has to do with the bar code on the printed form so the system can upload the receipts right away. My last company, I was able to take pics of my receipts and then send it with the Concur App. , I dread sending my expense reports ( I do them weekly to get my milage).

I hate to admit, but when the worker at my Kinkos got a little snippy with me, I went off on her (wish I didn't make an arse of myself)...but, this was the 3rd time I had to spend over 30-40 minutes in the place to send a fax.

Just going to have my wife send them from her work (seems to take her less then a minute with their set up).

If I have to fax I go to a UPS store, no problems. Some companies under HIPPA have to use fax because email is not secure enough. I don't know if that extends down to documents such as expense reports unless it has patients names or something like that.

Perhaps look into the faxing services that you use over the Internet. Tell it to fax a particular PDF or whatever to the number you put in.

My fax machine is a dinosaur and even it will fax without a landline using Ooma internet phone service for $3 a month.

Have to check into that. I assume I have to see if Time Warner Cable Internet provides the service. $3/mth is well worth that...hell a lot cheaper then what I give Kinko's.

Get a refurb Ooma internet phone unit from Amazon. Connect it to your router and it will work with your TW internet service. You will have phone/fax line for less than $4 month. Ooma charges local phone tax and 911 fee only. Expense the $4

I have a VoIP phone hooked to my 3 in one printer. It sends and receives faxes fine. I pay $25 a year for the phone service.
Pretty much any printer that can scan, can fax too. I think my printer was $99 at Wally World. I don't even send a fax a week either. If you are doing this weekly you need to get your own set up.

Unfortunately yes. Legal and insurance docs still require fax.

I also worked for a multi billoin dollar publicly traded company and we had to fax in our expense and purchase card receipts with a barcode coverage just like the OP.
