Basketball blueblood Missouri on the outside looking in?

I'm shocked
They got that arse swept in Baum last year. Didn't want that smoke

I wonder how much avoiding us cost those sissies
Nah I dont have a microscope bruh

Your assertion is that our beloved Missouri isn't a fit for the SEC, yet you give no evidence

Did you read the OP?
Your continued defensiveness in this thread is noted, yankee
So Missourians are reduced to one of these 4 choices

Arguing about whether a portion of the state is below a 250 year old line commonly used to include Maryland in the definition of the south

Pointing out how civil war battles took place in the state or claiming they were somehow the exclusive purveyor of bushwacking activity and conflating slavery for southern culture

Quibbling about which of a few counties touching northeast Arkansas somehow counts for something

Accepting the OP premise backed by data

I see 3 specious arguments beguiling to people who dont understand the south at all and one group of nice cornfed midwesterners who obviously dont belong and aren't even trying. This may be stronger evidence than the original study!
Classic yankee. Thinking southern culture is just "former slave state"

Nobody from Oklahoma says they're in "the Midwest"

Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

I’m too busy enjoying the $72 million the University of Missouri received from the SEC in revenue distribution this year.

Cool. How are you enjoying it, do you work for the athletic department or something?

Seems like it has mostly been squandered to me. Nothing of relevance has been won and your facilities are still arse

and it is the only state where it was the definition of a civil war) started long before Fort Sumter and lasted long after Appomattox. Missouri Bushwhackers did not tuck tail and quit like the rest of you pussies.

You folks need to learn your civil war history

Or just run to the big 10 where you belong. Not knowing civil war history is no issue for those folks. Just another thing yall (you guyses) have in common

They have a star on the battle flag.

This was to entice them to join

Everything south of the St. Louis/KC line is more southern than not

False. You have to get to at least Joplin or Poplar Bluff before you start talking about it
Same as every year. Great regular season followed by a very frustrating exit in Supers or Omaha

They have Oklahoma identifying 66% midwestern. I'd say Oklahoma is more like 66% southern

Good thing someone did a study with actual methodology instead of just guessing so we know you're wrong
In addition to their abysmal athletic efforts and pitiful campus life, polling confirms what anyone who has ever visited the state know all too well. A decisive 95.3% of Missourians self identify as living in th3 Midwest, only 2% less than Iowa, the quintessential Midwestern state.

Middle West Review and Emerson College Polling Launch Largest-ever Study on Midwestern Identity

quote:

Emerson College Polling and the Middle West Review are excited to share the findings from the largest-ever study on Midwestern boundaries and identity. The study surveyed 22 states, including those that are traditionally considered to be the Midwest, but also surveyed its surrounding states including Arkansas, West Virginia, Colorado, Oklahoma, among others. Over 11,000 responses were collected across 22 states.

This study finds a majority of residents in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Wyoming consider themselves to “live in the Midwest.” Similarly, the majority of people in the same states consider themselves to be “Midwesterners, ” though at a lesser intensity.

It is time to right the wrongs of a few years ago and boot those yankees from the conference
UCA and state are seeing rapid enrollment growth and quality gains despite not being in the SEC. They do both have major initiatives to help in-state students with major scholarships or reduced tuition. You know, lowering the costs for students instead of raising them?
I'm fine with paying players. But rich people should do it by choice, not our students just trying to get an education
This is in addition to stopping the longstanding annual transfer from athletics to academics
