What the hell is that about? Clowns are for amusement. Why the hell do people have irrational fears of them? I don’t get it.
Are the same people afraid of comedians?

I don’t get it either, but I know a few of people, including grown arse men, who are terrified of them.

I fear both clowns and midgets. If I see a midget clown I will punt that little mother fricker if it gets close.

I used to work in a phobia research lab. Every single clown phobic I dealt with traced their phobia of clowns back to watch "It" when they were way to young.

It’s contrived from every other kid in second grade professing their fear of clowns
Clowns aren’t inherently terrifying

I’m pretty sure “it” changed the game for clowns

It became cool to “fear” clowns after IT. A skilled clown is awesome.

I don't fear them at all but even as a kid I didn't like them. I just never saw the humor in them.
I do know a guy who is scared to death of midgets.

I think for some people, the movie IT made them scared of clowns, but then it got to the point where it just became popular to be scared of them.
With that said, I wouldn't compare a clown to a comedian. There are different styles of humor and whatever type of comedian you like, they say funny shite and entertain you with stories that make you laugh. Clowns are people who put paint on their face, with a wig that is usually colors like red, yellow, etc.. And after about the age of 5, you think they are annoying as frick.

Have you never heard of a little movie called Poltergeist? Cause that is where my semi phobia started...

Forgot about him... He definitely made it real.
I am sure for some people, they do identify clowns as people who are trying to manipulate.
