The most concerning thing is that many people are using the compounded injections which haven’t been tested and aren’t as effective.

Normally I would agree, but big difference here is that the active ingredient in Ozempic is a generic drug now. The formulation is the only patent protection they have so a compounding pharmacy actually can give you the exact same generic drug. Same for Mounjaro, but Lilly will have to go after all of the compounding pharmacies to stop it. But same drug there as well

Stopped taking it 4 months ago and i have gained a little weight back. Up to 188 yesterday. Admittedly, my eating habits have taken a bit because of my schedule.

Goddamn you must eat a ton to put on 12 pounds in 4 months.

There’s been a shortage apparently. So I guess this means that the diabetics that actually need the drug will not be able to get it?

Well I am a diabetic who was put on it once. I will never take it again--constant nausea and diahhera. Yeah, you do lose weight while you are on it. That is what happens when you can't keep anything in your stomach.

I'm pretty sure the people are losing weight because these pills make them not eat

They're not generics. They're just amino chains that are easily duplicated.

Exactly, these are just peptides

Some of the dumb shite said in this thread ….just show complete lack of understanding of chemistry and biochem

Everytime the ot talks about things like this I’m reminded that most of the OT is barely over functionally retarded on many issues….this is one of them

yeah these basically work by making you so sick to your stomach that you don’t want to eat.

They work. I’ve had colleagues get put in the hospital from their side effects, but they work.

I wouldn’t use them unless I was very fat, but that’s just me.

they work by multiple ways, mainly by reducing your desire to eat and making you feel full

Yeah I've heard of this too, and that's the whole point of the drug. If you're so addicted to food that you're getting sick eating on Mounjaro, that's your problem. Your body is begging you to stop. I hope it teaches boundaries.

yes it does, they got super dehydrated and got sent into AKi which is a known side effect. I promise you I understand how the drug works.

Some people here are infact smarter than you, it’s okay.

plenty are, just doubtful you are one of them after the claims you made

again doubtful

its not a known side, its know to cause issues that can increase risk of AKi because people continue to try and shovel shite down their throat and eat highly processed bullshite.

but in year long studies with over 2000 patients with close monitoring...not a single case of kidney distress was reported.

could it be your "friends"(100% you are making this up btw)

A) jumped up in dosages way too fast
B) continued to try and eat like shite and eat way past the point they were full because they were chasing dopamine high
C) got sick and instead of making sure they were properly hydrated....got completely dehydrated to the point AKi happened?

i mean how fricking much of a glutton do you have to be to continue to force things like donuts down your throat until you are sick as dog?

and i mean how out of touch with reality do you have to be to get so dehydrated you get kidney injury?

i mean jesus fricking christ. the medicine cant fix being retarded. as some point people have to be responsible for themselves

i mean should we ban water since some people drown themselves from drinking too much? what about tide pods...should those be banned because people eat them

FWIW, me not wanting to take it unless I was “really fat” has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with not wanting to be nauseated/constipated for 3 months.

well now it might be covered or find a place that gets it manufactured overseas or get a compound pharmacy. nothing special about the name brand at all. its being manufactured all over and getting lab tested to prove purity. its the same damn thing.

Some people have a harder time losing weight. It gets even harder as you get older. Boo hoo, life's not fair, etc. Accept that you may have a harder row to hoe, and start making positive changes anyway. God helps those who help themselves.

To the 400lb poster, I also got up near that at 6'6". Try this, it worked for a bigger middle-aged guy such as myself:
1. Intermittent fasting 7pm-11am
2. Reduced carb intake of anything starchy (egg and tomato/green onion breakfast taco with tortilla instead of a sandwich, etc.)
3. Healthy proteins and fats (meat, olive oil, yogurts)
4. Never drink any simple carbohydrates, learn to drink coffee black or with cream only
5. No alcohol - empty calories, and usually consumed at a time when you don't need them.
6. Long walks every day with the dogs.

Eta: for the purposes of drinking calories I'm not counting dairy (but I handle dairy well).

based on what? please tell us

does it stimulate the glp-1 receptors to make you seem full? yep. does it reduce the dopamine rush...yea but it doesnt touch the nervous system and it doesnt frick up the brain :eyeroll:
