Typical K&B run for my dad. A gallon of taaka or K&B vodka and a half gallon of ice cream for the kids.

I'm just now finding out that my dad obviously had a second family.

No trip to the mall as a kid was complete without a stop in Walden Books for comics and KayBee Toys for a toy.

Im no spring chicken and most of these stores are before my time.

What about Circuit City? Wasn't my favorite, but just throwing it out there.

My mother confirmed it was Howard Griffin.

Fun fact, Willie Robertson's wife is HG's granddaughter.
somehow my mother knew that also.

I believe she is the granddaughter of one of the Howard Brothers of Howard Brother's Discount.

Service Merchandise. As a kid, that anticipation of waiting for your box to come out of the warehouse and roll down the conveyor was awesome. Bought my first Gameboy from there

Odd store. If I remember right, there was a display item and you would pull slips of paper from behind the price tag. If none were left they didn't have any. Strange even for the early/mid 90s that I was in those stores.

at a young age i would go to the gun section and just stare at all the pistols under the glass. i wanted all of them but the prices seemed like something only rich people could afford.

at 9 years old or whatever, pretty much anyone with more than a dollar in their pocket was rich to me.

Chess King - thinking about some of the shite I wore in the 80’s makes me cringe. Wouldn’t trade my 80’s childhood and mid teen years for anything though.

King Saver and Gerlen’s (sp) grocery stores because they had video games. Played many a game of Defender, Galaga, and Karate Champ at those places.
