Marco's is big around here and I like it better than the other national chains.

Agreed.

It's really good pizza.

But I've stuck to local joints.

One of the best in the 70's and 80's, after that, not so much.

Marco's

One franchise where operator matters. Some are good, some are bad, and some are really bad.

No way in hell unless you got dragged there for kids or grandkids. Even the MiLF and GilF pickings were poor. Booze and drugs are the only way to get through CEC, Telletubbies, Barney, and other assorted mind numbing children's stuff.

Is it really better?? I only ever see it for sale at sketchy gas stations in super rural areas so have never tried it personally

Papa John's is the best and it's not even close. The others are like cardboard with ketchup and low quality cheese on top.

If we're including local chains Johnny's v. Gatti's v. Papa John's is more of a fair fight.

Didn't see Donatos mentioned yet. They are also outstanding.

Much better in CKY when the old white haired guy owned it (and UK donor) but he died and not as good since. More salty, lower grade toppings, dough has gone downhill.

I’m not sure how I’d rank these but I do wanna shout out dominoes as they’ve significantly upped their game

Jets pizza Detroit style is absolutely delicious too

Also are we counting Emmy’s squared? It’s a chain, and it’s delicious

I don’t have any use at all for little ceasars now but I must say being able to pull up and get a $5 hot and ready pizza whenever we wanted was legendary when we were at LSU

They also made their own dough in house at that time. I worked in the mid 90s at PH, it was a different place than what it is now.

Dominos was the shite in the late 70’s. Nothing like it used to be but you get what you pay for. Stationed at Keesler AFB back in this time frame. Franchise right off base and of course delivered Great ingredients, great dough. Not the same, neither are McDonalds French fries.
