Tommy Karam was my favorite professor ever at LSU, by far. Loved his class.

Sauley, Shipka (now at Oklahoma State), and Outland (history) were also really good.

I liked Roussel better than most. Might be an unpopular opinion, but if you get him as your lab instructor instead of a TA, you get to see a different side of him. He's goofy and strict, but I liked him.

Mark Slovak (Astronomy) was awesome and would let us meet him at the Highland Observatory for extra credit. Unfortunately, he got in trouble during my semester for some roadrage incident on campus and all out-of-class activities stopped and we had a monitor sitting in the back of all of his lectures

We may have been in the same class. He drove a yellow BMW motorcycle and some student ran him off of the road. So he got off his bike and promptly punched the student in the face. Can't say I blame him.

Yeah, I remember reading the story and being on his side.

Really sucked because he was a good guy.

Many good and memorable Professors.

Worse was Susan Wolford my freshman year in English composition. If I wrote a paper with conservative points of view-D. If I rewrote the same paper from a liberal point of view-A or B
Really turned me off to liberals

Paul Britt was one of my favorites. He was an a-hole for the right reasons. Hated interruptions (cell phones, people leaving in the middle of class), stupid questions, people who can't follow directions, and all the other disrespectful things students think they can get away with because they're big boys and girls now. One time he berated the shite out a guy who yawned audibly in class, and another time he answered someone's ringing phone. I put him in my top 5 favorites.

He had the last laugh. He is happily married and an associate dean. He teaches the classes he wants and remains sharp. He deserved and got much better.

Another of my top 5 favorites. RIP. I had him for ENGL 3002 (Technical Writing), and he was such an a-hole to the stupids in the class.

Top 5 are:

Rick Blackwood
Mari Kornhauser
Doug Holt
Paul Britt
James Bennett

William Pinar was my least favorite I think.

Honestly, any professor whose syllabus includes a book they authored...

This. Along with Stan Hilton. Lawrence Sasek in the English dept. was awesome as well.

Least favorite: Ann Loveland. Total stone cold bitch. There was also an arrogant prick in Poli Sci named Arango that I couldn't stand.

Best:

Jean Brager, French and FMA. He left this semester but was the most laid back professor I've had, but I always learned a lot. He's almost every French student's favorite.

Rick Moreland, English. He taught the modern criticism class, knew it was difficult material that nobody really wanted to do, and basically just let us have relaxed class discussion. He was much more concerned with actual learning than a letter grade.

William Demastes, English. He taught the 4000 level Shakespeare class and made it fun. We did a scene reenactment as our final grade in celebration of the Bard's birthday. He also ended class on funny notes often, such as remarking that "Guys want a girl who will go fishing and hunting, isn't afraid to get dirty, watches football, etc. Girls want a guy who won't complain about shopping, seeing chick flicks, etc. Basically, guys want to date guys and girls want to date girls. You're all gay!" Also saw him at baseball games a lot so A+

Worst was Paul Britt. Not so much for demanding students to be mature, but his Napoleon complex was annoying.

Least Favorite: Some jack hole Differential Equations professor named Britt. Napoleon complexed Millsaps grad. I pity the folks who didn't transfer to another class.

True story: I had Britt for Calc I and II. Had an exam the morning of September 11th. Spent all morning studying in the library, so I had no idea what happened. Walked into class, Britt walks in and tells everyone class is cancelled. We're all like "yeah right", tells us "Terrorists are attacking New York. Go find a TV, there are more important things for you to worry about this morning."

Pull out my Nokia candy bar phone, had 20 missed calls. Weird day b

I graduated LSU in 2007 (undergrad) so not sure if these guys are still there anymore.

The worst by far was a geology professor named Marty Horn. He was an a-hole and a horrible teacher. His class was the only class I ever dropped in 4 years.

The best was a music professor, for the life of me I can't remember his name. I think his first name was John. He taught a class on reading and writing music. He was a great guy and good teacher, he always stayed late or helped out students who needed it. He also played piano and jazz bass and would do mini concerts/ jam sessions in class. It was awesome.

Favorite: Robert Ragland. He was a little boring, but a cool and funny guy. He mentioned td a few times.

Least favorite: Hassan ardakani. He was the worst teacher I've ever had by a longshot. He was a dick too and screwed the class on multiple occasions.
